Please Help so confused on offset...

Hello everyone... I have a 2007 TL Type S that i want to put a set of staggered wheels on but due to the brembo brakes in the front im confused as to what will and will not fit properly...

I came across a set of Sevas S22 Wheels Which are 20x8.5 & 20x10. They have a 40mm front and rear offset with a 2 inch front lip and 4 inch rear lip... Will these wheels fit my Type S with out spacers?

If not does anyone know the proper specs i should be looking for in a wheel in order for them to fit properly?

ive seen alot of TL's with staggered wheels but not many Type S's in my Area so if anyone could help me out that would be great as im not sure what the best tire and wheel combo would be in regards to Size's and offsets of both wheels and the tires.

A wider wheel with a lower offset will usually put you in the clear.
Although this rule shouldn't be rigorously followed, since the spoke design depends a lot on whether they will clear the brakes.

20x8.5 +40, I am going to say they probably will not clear.

To solve this you'll need to add a spacer.

^ you dont thnk those will fit brian?? I am not sure if they will or wont but i would venture to think they would since the stock type s rims are 17"x8" +45 my TSW rims were 19"x8" +40 and cleared easily but the spoke design did help out to give extra room.... If you like the rims and they dont fit do as bforbrian says and just get a set of spacers for the front most likely 5mm will help them clear its not that big of an issue

My statement was based on the fact that the Sevas S-55 20x8.5 +40 BARELY cleared rotoras, by a couple of index cards thick.

The spoke designs are very similar; the S-22s just have more spokes. They are not concave in anyway, in fact they have a lip so the spokes still stick in. The brembos are much fatter than the rotoras so I would err on the side of caution..

Damn i was trying to stay away from spacers as some people told me that spacers tend to make the car vibrate at higher speeds... I do like the wheels and i can get the set for around $500
