Painted the Calipers...and did some other stuff

Okay, some may remember I recently installed A-Spec wheels on my car - https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-tires-wheels-suspension-97/finally-specs-764597/

Naturally, the suggestion came to paint the calipers, and I had to oblige. Pics below:

Up close:

With logo installed:

Rear:

All done:

Also, I installed a CF engine cover in January (please excuse the dirty engine compartment:

And, just for good measure since I never got around to posting a picture of my license plate LED's:

So, because they aren't Brembo's I shouldn't have painted them? Is that what you're trying to say? It's not like I put a Brembo cover on them (like others have done). I painted them black and put an Acura logo on the front ones. How's that "cheesy"?

Thanks. Found them on eBay. Another Azine member put them on his car and that's where I got the idea.

Baha I just painted my calipers too! I like the idea of the Acura on them, alot. I think I may go with just the "A" logo itself though. Here's a few pics, can't really tell much about them in these crumby pictures. I did a rattle can job on mine though, was a PIA You should totally paint around your rotors too, where it's a little rusty.

My bumper looks totally a different color in this picture lol

Actually, the next thing I am doing is replacing the rotors with Rotora drilled and slotted ones.

Then you must really love this - https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ht=brake+cover Of course, the difference is I'm not trying to convince anyone I have Brembo's; I'm simply adding the logo of the vehicle manufacturer to my own calipers.

Thanks. I appreciate the suggestion and the links to the Duplicolor Kit. That was exactly what I used.

dont pay attention to him. Black looks better than the silver/rusty color and thats all ther is to it. The Brembo snobs will bitch about anything that looks somewhat like brembos but arent, because they think brembos hold the 'patent' on black calipers and nothing else is allowed to be black if it isnt a brembo.

i'm all for painting calipers but i think the "acura" looks like it's trying a little too hard. sorry, not trying to be a dick. plus there's no way those white letters will hold up and then it's gonna look even worse. good thought tho. altho i also want to say, if you love acura, dont you feel like you cheapen the brand by putting the "logo" on an inferior part like that? someone who doesnt know any better and thinks acura puts their name on that run-of-the-mill brake caliper? thereby bringing down their opinion of acura, if just a little bit. IMO. IMO.

Bring down their opinion of Acura? By putting the logo on a part that Acura put on an Acura? I'm sorry that just doesn't make sense.

By the way, the logo is a hi-temp decal meant to withstand the heat, etc. The moment it starts looking like crap due to wear, it comes off. It's not that hard.

Perhaps it was all in the communication. You know, this probably isn't the first time, and won't be the last, that someone bristled at the WAY something was criticized.

Good choice on the rotors! and hey man, to heck with what everyone else is saying. As long as you like it then that's all that matters.

No problem man! It worked great for me so I thought I would spread the word.

I did mine back in early December and the paint is holding up rather well. There are a few very small spots where the paint is starting to chip away, but nothing terrible. Maybe I'm planning to do another coat sometime soon.
