New Continental Extreme Contact DWS or Mich Pilot A/S Plus?

Hell yeah. If they really did an alignment, they should be able to print out a spec sheet. The system keeps it in memory as far as I know. Don't let them tell you it's too late to get a spec sheet.

Front was good to start with....
Left rear toe....WOW!! I'm surprised your left rear tire wasn't shredded or cupped. Did it have any abnormal wear at all? Anyhow, it's back in spec now.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen the left rear toe out of spec on these cars. You'll need to keep an eye on your rear tire wear, rotate regularly (I do it every oil change) and be sensitive to any pulling/driveability issues that may or may not crop up. Our cars seem to have a tendency for the rear toe to drift out of spec and from what I've seen, it's usually the left side.
Your right rear camber is just slightly out of spec to the negative side. Again, this seems to be pretty typical for our cars. From what I've seen, it's nothing to worry about as long as rear toe is kept in spec. (Our rear camber is not adjustable anyhow).
Once again, I'm really surprised that you didn't feel any pull or lane control issues or have a shredded left rear tire with that out of spec rear toe.
You might consider going to Firestone for your next alignment and purchase their lifetime alignment deal. They have a coupon on their website and occasionally they'll run even better deals on the lifetime alignment. I think it's around $120 normally, but you get at least 2 alignments/year for as long as you own the car....

About Firestone, I will check out Firestone's lifetime alignment deal. That sounds like a great idea.

I just ordered 4 Continental DWS tires in 245/45-17 from Tire Rack. They are on national backorder from Continental. It might take 4-6 weeks to get them. I wish I could find someone who had them in stock....
#406
You probably could but I doubt they would match tireracks price.
#408
Did you try SEARS?
#409
Well we just got 7'' of snow here and I was able to try out the DWS's and I am absolutly impressed with these tires. Th Acura just clawwed its way through the snow almost effortlessly . These tires lived up the the hype .

The tires were Continental ContiContact Extremes or something like that.
Vibraton issues at different speeds. After replacing three rims, two dealers diagnose and one tire shop diagnose, I went to another tire shop that came highly recommended. They found that I had three tires so far out of balance that they were beyond normal specs. I worked with Continental today (via Tire Rack where I got the tires) and they agreed to replace all four since the tire is no longer manufactured.

Just had them installed from Mavis Tires yesterday. Very happy with the tires so far. A lot quieter than the Falken 452's I had on my RJ 19's.

I just got my 245/45/17 DWS installed, I immediately noticed how much quieter they are then stock michelins. They are also very smooth, don't notice road imperfections as much. I made sure to do some snow/ice tests in my neighborhood before the install and the DWS is performing great so far, doesn't even activate VSA where as the stockies activated them easily on the same test surface. I'm impressed so far but will give another update in a week or so. I did notice the sidewalls as others have mentioned are softer then others. I don't mind it at all though, I'm glad i went with the 245/45 as the car looks more aggressive.
What is everyone's psi set to, mine is currently 36/35? I believe in the earlier posts people were running 35/32?

First snow of the year in MI, about an inch, and the DWS performed great! A little slip after i try to gas it after a corner, but its what i would expect even from a snow tire, and it recovered very quick with the traction control. Takeoff from stop was great and had no slip issues, and braking was very strong too. Much better than my Pirelli Pzero Nero M&S for sure. I still have my X-ice Xi2 to go on, but these could get me through a winter i think with very little issue. Great purchase!

I bought the Conti DWS 235/45/17 less than 2 weeks ago. I have about 150 miles on them so far. I had the stock MXM4's with 23,000 miles(original tires with car) and decided to replace them after they were hydroplaning too much for my taste. The MXM4's were always horrible in the snow and I didnt want to risk another winter with them. They're now sitting in my basement and I'm thinking about selling them on craigslist locally. I see average used price is $50 each with 5-6/32 tread.
The DWS are definitely quieter/smoother than the stock MXM4's. There's a HUGE difference in steering feel. The MXM4's always made the steering wheel very tight feeling. The DWS has made steering more mushy. It took a day or two to get used to that change but I'm not complaining as I dont really push my TL that much.
I paid $617 installed excluding tax. They price matched to tirerack after shipping. The dealer installed them with the factory 33psi setting. I noticed the DWS have a max psi of 51 according to Conti. I asked the dealer if the psi should be higher with these than the stock tires and they said no, it should be whatever the factory number is. The other day I had to make a quick sudden acceleration maneuver from a dead stop to jump into another lane and there was a lot of wheel spin so I upped the psi to 38 on the DWS which seems to have improved them a bit. I'm still wondering what is a good psi to keep these tires at. I think 33 is too low but I also dont want to over inflate.

Any luck at SEARS? When I ordered from SEARS, it took a week because they had to be shipped from the SEARS warehouse. Don't know if the SEARS warehouse keeps stock there or it just orders from Continental on demand...

Yep, the person I spoke to knew that I wanted the ExtremeContact DWS when I said, "I am looking for 4 Continental tires".
Is there another tire that comes close to this Continental? Or should I just wait until late February for it? I'm not sure the OEM tires (with 38,000 miles on them) will last through the winter.

ouch that's a long wait considering most of the north-northeast of the country is getting hit with snow. looks like i just squeaked by getting mine.

had a dusting of snow on the road this morning coming out of my neighborhood. I saw snow and was immediately excited to test these tires out in it....
and wow was I impressed. It wasn't much snow, but enough where the stocks would easily spin and turn on the vsa light....put a decent amount of gas to it this morning on a covered road and they didn't spin at all. I LOVE these tires!

What size are these tires you're looking for? I've had the same issue on my IS250. I purchased a set 4 Continental DWS's in March of this year although they only had 2 in stock and waited for the rest. Continental keeps pushing the ETA's up. Don't know what's going on with their factory. A year almost now to bring them into production?? Wow!

I'm going to go with 245/45-17's. I actually got a hold of someone at Continental-they told me the ETA is the end of February.

Thats weird, I just ordered 4 235/45/17 Conti DW's from discounttire and they called me the next day to tell me the DW's were back-ordered, but if I wanted the DWS's they could send them out the next day.... I got all 4 for $574 shipped with the full road hazard coverage. ($20 military discount)
#433
Im gonna get an alignment done right after I put the new tires on too, does SEARS do a good job? Im in a military town so I dont want to take it to a small local shop, those are the places that rip off Marines. Theres not many options here. I called every shop about these tires and nobody would price match tirerack or even offer free mount and balance with the purchase of 4 tires, this town is ridiculous. The tire pressure is 35F and 32R right? Is that working good for everyone with these tires?
#434
Somebody told me that they push back there tires towards the end of the year and release them at the beginning of the new year to get more time out of them. Not sure how true that is.

Really??? I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if they have 245's in stock.
UPDATE: I just called and the 235's are in stock. The national back order is for the 245's. I went ahead and ordered the 235's instead. The guy that helped me at Discount Tire said that the 245's are only 1/2 inch wider than the 235's. I need the tires, so I went ahead and got the same price as you did Turbo!
Thanks for the update-it really helped.

I got the tires installed today. Wow, these make the car completely different. It feels so much better and smoother, it handles way better and the steering is a lot more responsive. I also got the alignment done today too. My front toe was off on both sides and the left rear toe was out too. Its all good now except for my left rear camber which is off a little. Im extremely happy with these tires. Im heading up to PA tomorrow for xmas so maybe I will get to see how they do in some snow...

What was your left rear camber? Seems to be pretty common to see rear camber at -1.6 to -1.9. Doesn't seem to cause problems, although seems to make the tires extra sensitive to out of spec toe. Just keep an eye on toe and you should be fine.
