Need help on wheels section and dropping the TL
im kinda new to the tl scene but been in the import scene for a while.ive recently posted up on the will theses wheels fit my car but had no input so im trying again before i buy my wheels. i have a 2008 base model black tl with everything stock and i was looking to buy some 19" bbs lm replicas from wheeldudes.com. i needed help on the offset cause i want a little more aggrestive then the plain old honda/acura offsets and tire size if i do on planning to buy the wheels. im looking to drop the car about 1.5-2.0 depends on the offset and asking for help to see if the car can still be dailyed. if you have any tips or refences in mind feel free to let me know. im also looking for some decent drop springs if anyone know where i can get a good price for them.
welcome!
I believe 19x8.5 +22 with 225/35 will work... check out bforbrian's threads.. he has aggressive wheels w/ offset, size, tires, and everything with pics
If ur looking for springs... tein s tech gives a nice drop

Ok jk i found it...here you go:
and heres the thread:

So many people are striving to achieve that "flush" look, by which the rim sits perfectly in line with the fender.. I created this thread to provide info on what specifications on 19" wheels will deliver that look, and pictures to go along with that information.
*This information is for the rear.
All of you should know that I have been through a myriad of different sets of wheels.. and from all, I have found that my Volk LE37T set up was the most flush. When the car is in the air, there IS poke, but without any camber kits (natural camber), the rear wheel sat flush, 2-4mm poke at most.
The specifications on the rear were the following:
F: 19x8.5 +22
R: 19x9.5 +22
Here are pics:

By simple math, I compared my set up to ballinfizzles, who had:
19x9.5 +32
19x10 +30
The difference was 2mm, which is close to nil.
Here are pics of his set up:

Now, these sizes (9.5 & 10) are very common sizes to run in the rear so those offsets will deliver flushness.
Comparatively, if you wanted to run an 8.5 and achieve a flush look, the specs would have to be:
19x8.5 +9
For a 9" width:
19x9 +16
For a 10.5" width:
19x10.5 +35
All this isn't phenomenal, it's just math. Happy wheel shopping!

sorry about that i meant what if i ran 19x9 all around. according to him he says +16 for 9's???? do cheap tires like "nx, sunny, & etc "strech as good as name brand" toyo, gy, & etc". would u run a aggressive offset like this daily? any rubbing??? spacers need???? fenders rolled on a 1.5-2.0 drop???? i run s tecs on my civic now dont look low enough. how about h&r springs????
holyyyyyy
lets see..
i have no idea which tires stretch better ... someone else can chime in for that.. many ppl run aggressive wheels daily... i prefer not to (but I LOVE the look)
you will have rubbing issues w/ this..need to roll fenders
If you wna be "flush," you wont need spacers if u choose correct offset.. if u want to "poke" just choose LOWER offset OR you can buy spacers to push wheel out
if you want 1.5-2".... go with coilovers

Get coilovers. The shocks are designed for the drop and you can fine tune each corner. This link might help you with offset. You need to do your research, keep searching and reading before you decide.

well the reason why im not a fan of coilovers no more is because i use to run them on my ek. they were nice and fresh when they were new but as the years went by they just became a pain in the ass to keep up. i had the orignal skunkworks if you are asking. now i run tein s techs and they are okay. might try h&r springs with the tl. does anyone think just running the regular acura and honda offsets still look agressive like +35-+45????? im think 19x9 +20 or 25 with 225 35 19 tires??????
Heres a consolidated list on how certain tires fit from another site...
