low-cost rollbar upgrade for 5AT
I searched on this but didn't find any similar threads.
I was browsing the Sunnyside Acura parts website and happened to notice how cheap the 6MT sway bars were. I checked the various parts and the only parts needed to upgrade a 5AT suspension roll-bars up to the thicker 6MT roll-bars are the bars and the center bushings. The end links are the same for 5AT and 6MT. Cost of front/rear bars and busings is less than $100 not including shipping. Not bad for upgrading, and a few hours labor.
Front 6MT parts
Items 2 and 3
Rear 6MT parts
Items 3 and 4

Yeah, the 6MT RSB would be a nice upgrade for the 5AT model.
Guys did the same thing on the 2G TL Premium models, using Type-S sway bars for a lot cheaper than Comptech's. But of course, not as good; still a decent upgrade, though.

Is there a difference in the front bars of the M/T and A/T TLs?
I thought the different diameters were only in the rear?
If there is a difference in the fronts, wonder why Comptech hasn't made on yet..... Oh.. And sign me up for the swap-out

If memory serves, the front sway bar for the 6MT and 5AT are similar in size, so it's not worth upgrading. However, the rear sway bar IS worth upgrading, but the Comptech is probably the better deal for the 5AT upgrader.
There are many threads regarding the issue, a search will reveal all....
