questions on tires
would like to run a 40 series in a 235 or 245???

Do people run 19 x 9.5 in the rear without rubbing?

Thanks again!
to clear the brembo and not rub you have to run the following front
19x8 +30 wrapped on 225/40-19 FRONT

rear is a different scenario as there is no pesky brakes there
19x9.5 +40 wrapped on 245/35-19 or 255/35-19 works great

17" wheels with 235/45-17 is factory
18" wheels with 235/40-18 is accessory option
sooo
19" wheels with 235/35-19 is extremely close to factory spec thus, the diameter will be identical... YET you will get the "appearance" of sitting up higher because you have less tire sidewall

Thank you for the info stillhere153... AKA TL Wheel&tire Genius! Would it be better to get the same set all the way around and rotate them to prolong tire life? If so, what would you suggest in wheel width and tire specs? Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for letting me know, as for the Acura 18x8 or 18x8.5 with a 45 offset those will be fine right? Should I stay away from the 55 Offset in the Acura rim? Thanks for all the great information.

ASA AR9's

Can't find these anywhere in the forum except on a white auto? Specs indicate they might fit on a 6sdp. VQMotoring says they do... Tire Rack says they don't! Can't find a PH# for ASA.

Learn me!!! I have never used spacers in the last 8 cars I have owned. Is it better to find a wheel that fits or does it hurt to use a spacer on a wheel you really want? I like the concept of the inserts on the AR9's and I do not want to spend a lot of $. How much do spacers cost and where can you get them? Wheel venders NEVER offer spacers... they just say they won't fit.

I am looking at AR1s or AR2s now as well. I think they are a nice BBS rep wheels. So if you cant afford the real ones, get the next best thing. ( bbs approved as well so it really is the next best thing

I was looking at those before and even tho they say they are hubcentric and fit to the hub there doesn't seem to be a flange on them to accept a hubcenteric ring that goes into the wheel.

Thus to me would be like running an aftermarket wheel with no hubcentric ring.

If you look at thier thicker spacers that have the bolts you can see the tapered flange that would mate with the taper in an after market wheel .. I could be wrong.

You are correct, I am not sure if they do

Honestly I'd get a set made up by wheeladapter.con instead, except the price will be double that of ichiba

I will post pics for you of a spacer wheeladapter made for me

if you are maxed out you can run 235/40-18... but small chance you might slice the tire so run 225 series instead

I have a question about what tire size I can run. I am looking at some TSW Snetterton. I am going to be going with 20x8.5 in the front and 20x10 in the back. The front have a 35 offset and the rear have a 38 offset. I wanted to run 245/35/20's in the front and 255/35/20's in the rear. I am also looking to drop it on coilovers but not for at least a year. And I would only drop it down like 1.5-1.75 inches. Will these work, or will i need spacer's and 30 series instead of 35 series? Any help would be great. Oh and they are going on an 05tl with no BBK

Thanks

the tire size is off... here are your options

Front
225/35-20
235/30-20
245/30-20

Rear
245/30-20
255/30-20 (will require fender rolling)

Wheel Make/Model:
Wheel Size (**x**): 18" x7.5"
Wheel Offset (+**): +40 or+45
If lowered (amount):

Transmission (Manual or Auto): Manual
Year/Trim (04-07, Base or Type S): 04 Base
Wheel Make/Model:
Wheel Size (**X**):
Wheel Offset (+**):
If lowered (amount):

Tire Make/Model: Michelin
Width/Sidewall-Diamete:235/40z/r18
If lowered (amount):
The wheels will fit fine, but I would say go with a wider tire. 7.5 is what I have in the front and just personally, I wish I would of gone with atleast 8 inches wide. The 7.5" just does not fill the wheel well enough. But yes, they will fit mane.

wrong... I dont mean to be a dick, but please don't post innacurate information on this thread

18x7.5 will not clear your factory brakes... you need at least an x8..

18x8 +35 on the 235/40-18 is a good fit

235/30-20 so you wont rub.... but it will leave you with almost no rim protection

Just a question here or am I reading things all wrong?

How can one determine a wheel will or won't fit if the brand of wheel isn't mentioned .. I don't see where Magmar04 posted the wheel brand .. just the sizing. Isn't there a lot of 18 x 8 +35 out there that won't clear the brakes?

ok i will solve this right here and right now... find me a wheel that is 18x8 +35 that doesnt clear the brakes

excluding the axis widetrack which is geared to be for extended lips
that wheel is 18x8 with an option of 2 lips, 60mm and 90mm, the lips width is created by offering less inner clearance also known as backspacing

for more information on my method of prediciting and pretty much being on the money on wheel fitments, see this thread for all the details you need to know
