Cost of spring drop???
Cost of spring drop???
i have looked around and found a few quotes and places that will do it. but I'm looking for how much it would cost to drop my car about an inch or so on springs with install.
also does anyone know what a good set would be?

Well, it depends on the mechanic or shop that you end up going to that will answer that question. Your best bet is to go and get quotes directly from them rather than asking people on a forum.

yea depending on the hourly rate ur local mechanics charge is going to be the question. Each place may charge a different amount. I would say with springs and all you should spend more than 600 on install and parts. I have a shop and we would charge anywhere from 250-300 for install. This is only because you have to remove the rear seats to get to the rear struts and springs. If it wasn't for this it would be a an hour or so cheaper. If ur handy and worried about price, just DIY man...

So before your offer your suggestion. Maybe you should actually provide some help. Class dismissed.

If you have the tools I would look at DIY you will save a good amount of money. I think I paid 20 bucks for my spring compressors 4 or 5 years ago.
Heres a link to a tutorial I found on a 3g...

You can get a spring compressor as a free loaner from AutoZone, etc. You pay a deposit and get it back when you return the kit. Torque Wrench too - which you will need.
DIY is here:

Find a freind to help if you DIY. The back-seat removal is kind of a bitch.

Shoot. 125.00 shipped for used springs (HR Sport) and did it myself. Took 2 hours.
Sucks that you have to pay shop charges. If you can take them the strut assembly and the new springs that should knock labor costs down significantly.
However if you don't have tools/space to do your own work than I sympathize for you.

This is just the kind of thing that caused me to DIY my springs. I never even changed the oil in a car before.
I saved $240.

But fixing up the garage and out-fitting it with tools and a work-bench cost $1000.

AND now I HAVE to do all the maint 'cause my wife won't pay to take it to Firestone. And it's Nintey-F**king-Nine degrees outside.

FML.

Thanks for nothin' you guys.
