Aspec settling??

How long does it take for the aspec suspension to settle?? Just had it installed yesterday and wasn't noticing much as far as ride height (I don't expect much!!) it's the same height as before the install?? Rides great though!!!

Which kit did you go with....the MT kit or the AT kit?

And whats your set up...AT or MT?

Oh...and it will take much more than 24 hours...lol. Take it to an autocross...that will settle it in!

Yea it should some time to settle before you get your "real" drop (which is very minimal as you know). Is it your DD or a weekend car? Beause that makes a difference on when the springs settle.

It will settle. Mine still does this after I've work done on the car; if it's been on a lift for part of a day, it will probably take a day to re-settle.

you have to drive it around a little.

my initial drop after a 5min drive immediately after install was about a 1/2 inch or so. drove home about 100 miles and it sat for another 36 hours until i drove it again to the dealer (another 16 miles) for alignment. it has settled maybe another 1/4 inch to give about a 3/4 inch drop total. you have to go hit a few bumps (speed humps and bumps), but i really wasn't trying after my install. i just drove.

i helped my brother do the install, but the dealer said no need to wait for the alignment for settling for aspec. get it done asap. i know a few others have said no need to wait for the alignment (i know totally off topic), but FYI.

Sorry about the hijack, but I was looking into 6MT Aspec suspension for my 2007 Acura TL and the dealer quoted me 643 dollars is this good?? I guess it may be decent, but what really threw me for a loop was the install of it. Dealer wants 650 dollars for install and allignment is this a good deal? Seems kind of expensive to me, is there any other place that can do if for cheaper, or should I stick with the dealer???

$643 is a fair price (got mine for $630 shipped to my doorstep). the install with alignment...HA...my dealer quoted me $895 with alignment which is the "book" price (i asked out of curiosity knowing full well i would be doing the FREE route-DIY), so yeah $650 is...cheaper. i even got a quote from a performance tuner shop in my area, they wanted $550 plus $125 for the alignment.

up to you whether you want to spend the dough. if you can DIY it with a mechanically incline buddy...that's the best its not that difficult (as long as your buddy has done suspensions before and you help). if you want the reassurance that a honda tech installed it...go to the dealer and give them your $$$. good luck.
