8.5'' Aspec what spacers to use?

Hi!

I have a 08 TL-S with 1.25''-1.5'' drop with oem spec camber. 8.5'' Aspec wheel and 245-40-R18 tires and no fender roll... Will 15mm front and 20mm rear works with no rubbing even with a lot of weight in the back?

Thanks for your time!

15mm in front should need a roll and/or pull.. 20mm in rear should be OK with no work

I have a 255/40 tire with a +22 offset wheel and I had to roll my rear fender... and I am not even dropped yet..

Incorrect.

15mm up front with 245s will need NO modifications.

20mm in the rear with 245s will need at least a fender roll. You may still rub over dips and around corners. Run a 235 and you won't rub at all.

I have the exact same setup on my 04 TL (18x8.5 A-Specs, 15mm front, 20mm rear). I was running 245s all around but went down to 235s due to slight rubbing in the rear.

Thanks for the reply! where was the rubbing on the rear fender? on top of fender? or on the side where the ''oem'' fender roll ends?

At the very top. Granted I'm only running -1 degree of camber all around, I'm sure if I ran more I could have gotten away with it, but I didn't want to mess with the alignment anymore.

If you're set on using 20mm in the rear, you'll at least need to get your fenders rolled. If you get them rolled paper thin against the outside panel, you won't rub with a 245. My fenders were rolled but not as well as I've seen others done, so I rubbed going over speed bumps, dips, etc. And it wasn't terrible, nothing that really made me angry, but it was noticeable.

If you haven't already bought tires, go with a 235. If you already have 245s, use them up and get 235s next time.

As far as I'm aware, the 2004 A-Specs were only offered in Gunmetal. I could be mistaken though. The paint wasn't a full gloss but it wasn't matte either.

ok thanks! so if I don't want to to roll anything and keep my alignement oem straight I should go with 15mm rear? Yes I already have the 245 tires and mine are also powdercoated super dark gun metal.

another question, If I put 15mm front and 15mm rear wont that look like the oem offset again? So I should do 10mm front and 15mm rear?

Clothe, for the front if 15mm spacer does it matter how low the car is?

Even with 15mm in the rear, it'll be close to rubbing if you don't roll the rear fenders.

You don't HAVE to run 5mm bigger spacers in the rear but since the stock wheels are naturally more sunk in that the rear, it would look pretty much the same. That's why I did 15/20.

Post some pictures of your wheels

Depends on the tire size. I have TEIN S-Tech springs and I don't rub with 235s or 245s up front.

Noob question. Can I run the A-Spec 8.5" with no spacers and a 3/4" drop? What happens if the new wheels don't have TPMS sensors but the car has a TPMS system?

^Yep, you can run the wheels with no problems.

I can't help you with the TPMS sensors though.

cars/wheels are dirty but it gives a good idea of the color, depending on sun and angle position it gives different effect...

You will get the warning light on your dashboard and error codes will be stored in the nav. This won't impact driving your car but will have that light on your dashboard staring you in the face every time you get in your car. You can pick up a set of TPMS sensors for relatively short money. The dashboard light will go out and you can clear the error codes by following the instruction I put in this thread - https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/anyway-clear-error-codes-stored-nav-822769/

Nice thread guys, I really needed this to make my mind!

I'm running 245/40ZR18 on ASPEC, but I'm not into rolling my fenders since i just got my car repaint!!! Should I go 15/20 and then buy new tires next year with 235 instead ?

Please help guys LOL !!

@CLtotheTL32 Nice stance, that's exactly what I'm looking to have!

Thanks vmt!

I hate to say it but if you want your "stance" to look like mine, you really need to roll fenders.

Even with the fenders rolled I would occasionally rub with the 20mm spacers and 245s. 235s eliminated that problem but it's still pretty close.

My suggestion to you is to roll your fenders and run the 15/20mm setup like I have. If you're truly against rolling fenders and want to keep your 245s, I wouldn't do more than 10mm.

Thanks for the quick reply, I guess the fender roller will be the next thing on my list. I'm really scared that it could damage my paint in some way ARGG lol

I will check with aziners in my area and I guess I'll go from there! Thanks for you time !
