~100k on stock suspension, time to change?

I have almost 100k miles on my stock suspension. Should i be replacing them? The ride is pretty bumpy and my car hasn't been lowered at all. I think the ride quality started getting affected when I purchased some used OEM rims to replace the chrome ones that came w/ the car. According to guy who balanced my wheels w/ road force balancing, one of my rims has a slight dent which will give it a slight hick up at freeway speeds. However, my ride gets pretty bumpy even during city driving

Do you think the suspension is the problem or the wheels? Or regardless, I should still be changing my suspension? I was able to find some used aspecs for 250 so i might be going for that. I guess I could always go back to my old rims to see if the ride quality gets better w/ the old rims

There is no time nor mileage limit as to when the suspension components are to be changed, only when they leak/malfunction. 100K is not a problem for suspension parts, they are just getting broken in.
Depending on the replacement tire size and type, they could be the cause of the harsh ride, and don't forget the proper air pressure.

it's not unreasonable that the stock suspension would wear out by 100k. maybe the car was driven on bumpy roads and highways it's entire life before you got it. only way to make sure is to swap back to the old rims and see how it rides.

We need to clarify what you mean by "bumpy" Is this a wheel balance issue or a worn shock issue? Are we talking about when you hit bumps or something that changes in frequency with speed?

100K is about the limit of stock shocks. All other components including bushings should be fine but my shocks started going soft around 45,000. It was barely noticable but I'm extremely picky about suspension feel and I notice everything. Stiffer shocks within reason can sometimes make the car ride better because they control body motion better.

at first i thought it was a wheel balancing issue so i took it to a shop w/ the hunter gsp9700 road force balancing machine. the tech said that one of my wheels was off balance by a lot and fixed it up but said that the ride will have a slight hickup at freeway speeds because there is a small dent on one the rims which i can barely see. it's basically an inch or so of the outermost rim being flat instead of round.

weird thing is that after the road force balancing, my ride seems to have gotten slightly worse.

Mine have gotten a bit softer as well, but unlike you, I'm at 73k miles.

If I were you, forget about the wheels for now and get the suspension replaced. Instead of getting the OEM parts, go for the A-Spec suspension or another aftermarket set-up from a sponsor here on Acurazine. I'll be swapping out my suspension hopefully in a year or so.

^If you want the A-Spec suspension but wished it went a little lower, I've heard that getting the manual A-Spec suspension will actually lower it more.

Personally I would get coilovers. Down the road if you decide to do the VIP look or want to go lower, you won't have to spend more to do so. Just because you have coilovers doesn't mean you have to slam it, but you could get a nice subtle drop and always have the option to adjust it to your liking

I dont know. I mean I have 100K on my original suspension and it feels to me like it's mint. The thing is sill stiff as heck and I actually USE the suspension on some back roads.

If you're interested in some OEM suspension with 35k on it, I have the stock setup from my 07 TL-S 6MT for sale

https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/07-tl-type-s-oem-exhaust-suspension-742577/

Additionally, I too have read on here and elsewhere that putting MT suspension on an AT vehicle does add just a bit more in the lowering dept. Never actually saw anything confirming it though.
