Window Stops Automatically

This has happened several times in my 5 month old car. When pressing the auto up button on the drivers side window, the safety feature activating the window stop comes on. Generally when I press the auto up button again it goes right up. I don't know why this is happening and I don't recall reading that this was happening to others, but your advice/suggestions are appreciated.

You can try & reset it with this procedure:

Roll the window all the way down & hold the switch down for two seconds. Then roll it back up, holding the switch up for 2 seconds after it closes all the way.

I have the same problem, and it doesn't happen everytime, just most of the time. I'll try your suggestion and post back here the results.

Thanks

I tried using your suggestion and it seemed to work right away. I left the car for about 15 minutes and when I got back to it to leave a client, the window was stopping again.

I don't think it really fixed it the first time, because my problem doesn't happen EVERY time, just most times. I have a service appointment this upcoming Friday for GOF, and other issues including this one. I'll leave an update here when I return.

Thanks anyway

Thanks...

My car just showed this damn issue a moment ago. So far, the driver side window could roll back after applying that fix. Hopefully this could hold up long.

May not be related, but my prelude would do that when parked in the sun. The window seals were so tight that when they heated up in the sun they got even tighter and would impede the smooth sliding of the window. It would stop at various points both on its way up and on its way down as if something was blocking it. Sometimes it would take two or three times hitting the switch to get it down. The side facing the sun was always worse.

Unhappy Today is around 50 degree... I hope it's not the motor issue...

My case happened this morning while trying to enter the gate of the parking lot of the work. I one-clicked to roll down the window completely, swiped my parking card, entered the gate, and tried to one-click to bring up my window. Suddenly it stopped in the middle and droped down a little.

Tried again, it went up a few inches, then dropped down inches.

Then, I applied this fix right away, it seemed to work well. Have to try it tonight.

I had this problem. It was a faulty window regulator that my dealer fixed. Hasn't happened since.

Did you go to your dealer twice? Checked, waited for the part, and installed in the 2nd visit.

Thanks.

I also had the moleskin installed. I took it to the dealer, and it was a defective window regulator. It was replaced under warranty.

Good luck with your car.

Yup. I went twice. They checked it out & ordered the part. I came in the second time & got it replaced.

I had the same problem on both sides. I spoke to the mechanic and he said alot of the time its dirt / something sticky on the window thats causing it. I cleaned it good and have been fine since.

I recently had my P.O.S. battery go out and my type-s had to sit in the garage for a bit while I ordered my Braille battery. After I put the braille in I tried to roll the driver side down with the auto roll-down button but it wouldn't auto roll down or auto roll back up but the passenger side did. So I did the whole roll down the window and hold the switch for 2 seconds and then roll it back up and hold the switch for 2 seconds and it works now. Thanks for advice guys.

FYI there was a Service Bulletin about a similar window problem -

http://www.in.honda.com/Rjanisis/pubs/SB/B06-031.PDF

Note this part -

Out of warranty: Any repair performed after warranty
expiration may be eligible for goodwill consideration by
the District Parts and Service Manager or your Zone
Office. You must request consideration, and get a
decision, before starting work.

wow my 04 done this but i thought it was pretty cool. I could pull the switch up really quick and it would roll up about half way and then roll down just about an inch and stop. Kinda like how people will roll with their windows slightly down. I never tried to get it fixed

Had the same problem with passenger front window

when I rolled the window down then back up it would stop halfway then go back down. I thought the window tinting might be scratched, bumpy causeing the problem, eventually it stopped doing it and has been fine for quite awhile now, maybe dust or dirt was causeing the problem, I hope it don't return.

I just had the work done. It was the window regulator since the "reset" trick didn't do the trick. Worth it if you're under warranty! The only sad thing was they were out of loaners... and they had to give me a rental from Enterprise. A friggin Chevy Aveo. Ugh.

It's not the regulator or the track, there is a malfunction of the auto feature ffs.

Well mine goes all the way down but when I press it again to go up it goes up like 4 inches and then back down.

First time I turned the car off. Open and shut the passenger door. Turned car back on and it went back up. Thank God!

Well it happened again today. Didn't mean to roll the passenger window down, but a cop was driving by me and my windows are tinted dark. Did the same thing. Went up 3 or 4 inches and right back down. It has been cold out so I don't roll my windows down let alone my passenger window. I turned the car off at the stop light and opened and shut the door. turned the car back on, same thing. So I pressed the window lock button a couple times and it went back up.

So what is the exact fix for it? Just hold the window button "down" for 2 seconds and then press the up for 2 seconds?

Take door panel off and inspect?

New regulator?

I see there was a TSB for it but the link is dead above. Any new info for 2018?

sounds like there's some restriction so remove the door and take a look

13 month response back to you:

Will do! Need to get this fixed this Spring. Want to be able to roll my passenger window down and have it come back up. So I will take the door panel off and inspect. Hopefully it isn't too hard to take off being a luxury car with all sorts of electronics and connectors.
