Window Rattle

I've seen posts on here about window rattling, but I'm not sure that it's the same as mine. I have a 2007 TL Type S. The driver side window rattles a little bit, but only when the window is completely rolled up. If I lower it, even a 1/4 inch, the rattle stops. It's not that loud, but it's annoying because I know it's there.

I'm wondering, is this the same exact problem some of you others have had, or is it different. I can take it to the dealer to have them look at it, and I eventually will, but it's just tough because of scheduling.

Thanks!!

if your talking about the rattle/creaking from the windows when they are fully up there is no fix that i know of. i have had about 20 customers complain about this and we can mak it better but not fully get rid of it.

303 for minor squeak...

I had a slight intermittent squeak from my driver's side window which ceased after I sprayed some 303 Aerospace (useful for maintaining the dashboard appearance) on a towel and wiping the weatherstripping that contacts the window.

Clean the tops of the windows completely where they contact the weatherstripping, then wipe with the 303-impregnated towel. I've done the 303 Aerospace application twice in about two years now. My TL's squeak went away for over a year on the first application and hasn't recurred since the most recent wiping.

I had the same noise (drove me crazy) and it's completely gone now. The technician found that the outside mirrors were making noise, which traveled up the window channel. He showed me; moved the mirrors just slightly with his hand and they creaked a lot. He removed the inside door panels, loosened the mirror screws, added a foam strip between the mirror and the outside of the car door (can't see it at all) and then made sure the mirrors were tightly screwed back in before reassembling the door panel. I watched him do the whole thing in less than 10 minutes for both doors. No noise at ALL since.

Same here. Driver's side mirror was replaced and the noise went away.
