Window Creak after window is rolled up?

My car has recently decided to creak when I roll up my driver side window....now the interesting part about this creak is that it only happens once the window is already rolled up...for example when the window is rolled up and I engage the auto roll up feature with the window switch it will make a very loud creaking noise...the same thing happens when the window is down, although the creak only happens once the window rolls up.

I tried pulling back the door panel a bit to see if it was rubbing there but its not...it seems to be coming from somehere in the actual panel itself

any ideas what it could be? maybe my motor going bad? It almost seems as if the motor is still trying to close the window for a second once its already fully up?

Mine does the same thing too - read a few other users have the same thing. My window still seems to work fine. Dunno...

My 08 TL-S does this too - only on the driver's side. It sounds like the door molding at the top of the door by the weather stripping is getting pushed outwards.

I don't mind it... It's just sealing the window in tight. Take a rag with some tire dressing or armor all and wipe down the rubber seal, should help.

My window makes a bad grinding sound DURING the roll-up. Auto/Manual both work fine and never had any problems, just that terrible sound. If I roll it down, then back up it goes away. Almost like it reseats or something. Really annoying.

anyone have a solution to this? my front windows do this too, and a couple of TL's I've sat in also did this. I actually bought new window regulators when it happened the first time, but that only helped for like a year or two and it started happening again. nothing wrong with the motors, just creaks at the last second after it closes. also, it only happens during warm and hot weather. cold weather it is silent.

Mine does this too but it hasnt bothered my because it only lasts for a second. I have tried to figure out what could be making the noise but didnt give it much time or effort. I noticed it happens when the window is all the way up and pushing outward. So maybe its bending plastic, etc and that is what is creaking!?

There's noting wrong with the regulators, they're fine.

The noise you hear is the window rubbing against the worn out belt moldings (inner and/or outer). The belt molding is defective due to them drying out and/or the felt being worn off. Once that happens the moldings get really hard and grabs the window when its rolled up or the window pushes against the molding to create that creaking sound.

You can try lubing the belt molding with dry silicone spray but doesn't always work.

The proper way is to replace the belt moldings.

by belt molding do you mean the long rubber piece that surrounds the window on the top half when closed?

#6 & 12

or did you mean the horizontal piece? #20 & 21

if what you're saying is true, I should be able to take those pieces off and test the window without any creaks....I might try that soon and report back.

Use Honda Shin Etsu grease I put some on a towel and use a credit card to lube all the channels. Got rid of my squeaking.

^^^ Yes 20/21 is belt molding.

The test that you want to try should work as long as the chanel weather strip is still in place... #6/12.
