Wind noise after window tint

I just had my windows tinted on my 2008 TL Type S and it looks great.

I went with 35% all around. Looks classy.

I took the car for a drive on the interstate and it does not feel like the same car.

Horrible wind noise above 60mph. When I step on the gas I can hear the engine way more also.

I looks like the weatherstripping was cut/trimmed on all four windows.

Is the damage done and I just have to deal with it or there is something I can do?

The car used to be almost like a vault with no wind noise.

Now it feels like all 4 windows are cracked.

2 years ago I took my TSX to the same place and don't remember being that much wind noise afterwards.

I regret getting the windows tinted now.

you say it looks like the weatherstripping is cut/trimmed.

is it actually trimmed?
if so, I would take it back to the tinter and have them fix the weatherstripping on their dime.
that isnt the proper way to tint.

my tinter did not cut/trim anything.
they fucked up your car by trimming the weatherstripping.

Voice your concerns to them.
TELL THEM that you regret getting the windows tinted.
if they are any kind of a reputable shop, they will fix it.

Are you still in the first few days where you can't roll the windows down? A lot of times they have to push the rubber strip down and it won't pop up til you can move the windows. See if it's still there when you open and close the windows before giving them a hard time about it.

I went back and asked them to take a look at it. They will take it for a drive and check.

I know for sure it was quieter before they got the windows tinted.

They said they don't cut or trim any of the weatherstripping.

Apparently, they remove the door trim so they can install some felt material on the inside.

Regardless, it is now noisy as hell.

They are supposed to call me back and let me know.

350: Yeah, I haven't rolled down the windows yet. It hasn't been 48 hours like they suggest.

On one of my cars, I thought the window motors were gonna break when I first put the windows back down cause the rubber strip was pushed down into the windows much, had to go up and down a few times til it was right. I could see that putting the windows out of alignment a little. Hopefully it goes away.

I hope it goes away too but especially that they recognize the fact that the problem is there and there is wind noise.

That felt they put on is MoleSkin. It's a felt so the rubber flap our cars have on the OE trim panels won't scratch the tint.

Tips:
1)maybe the window isn't closed all the way?
2) The trim panel has to be removed to install this Moleskin (which btw you probably paid extra for). & so maybe the panel isn't seated properly, therefore letting in some road/wind noise.

Didn't even think about that, they might have left the window down a c-hair and not noticed then said don't touch it.

Went back to the shop, the guy test drove it for 30 minutes and he could hear some wind noise but nothing the window tint job could have caused he said.

He did say my tires are noisy (General GMAX AS03) and that might amplify the wind noise I am hearing. I know for a fact it is more noisy than before...

Here is a pic of my windows, it really looks like the weatherstripping was cut, don't you think? The guy even said they do not do that but to me it looks like a piece is missing.

Got new Michelin HX Pilot MXM4 on the car, and it really made a difference for the road noise.

As far as wind noise it is definitely worse after getting the windows tinted.

At the shop they said nothing was done to cause that but I think they are full of it.

Could they have trimmed the weatherstrip or gotten rid of it altogether?

Should I get what they call the inner weatherstrip?

Tape a strip of masking tape along that weatherstrip you have a picture on,real tight, real smooth. Drive at the speed you usually hear the noise, if it's gone: you know that's where the problem is.
