When should I change my timing belt ??
I'm not sure when I should change my timing belt but it's 7 years old and has 105,000 miles. I don't drive it in extreme conditions and my mid hasn't told me to change it. Please help me! Ihatecars? Nfsquared?? Any thoughts ?? The average temperature where I'm located varies between -21 and 111 degrees Fahrenheit.
I would change it ! On the other hand my car is 05 with 53500 miles on it. Im thinking about it but not sure if i can wait for a little longer. I have not been driving the car much, mostly around town and couple of long trips (about 650miles both ways)
I have almost 125k on my 06 and am thinking about changing mine here shortly. I would not worry about the 105k, that is Honda's recommended change time based on failed timing belts over the years in Honda's. Go with your gut, but I would not worry about going over the 105k. It's always cheaper to change a belt than an engine. The dealer tried to soak me for 1500.00 for the belt and water pump (both are normally changed at the same time), but I bought all the parts for $156.00. Not bad for the dealer 1000% mark up! Crooks!
