any ideas? i took it to the dealer but they cant get it to do it, it only happens when the car has been driven for a while.. Everytime i make a left turn, the front end makes a whiny noise. like a belt or the power steering hose.. They replaced the hose last week, so it can't be that.

well, is it just when you make a left turn? and it is frequent or intermittent after you've driven it for a while? Are you sure it's not your power steering?

Last time I had a vehicle do that the power steering rack was going out. The steering gears in the rack were binding and it really over worked the power steering pump. I ended up replacing the rack and the pump.

Easiest thing is that if it is in warranty take it in!

If I had to make a guess I would say it is power steering rack related..... especially if it is only on left turns. Otherwise the pump would make noise all the time.

^ see...it's gotta be that power steering of yours. i had issues with mine, but they disappeared after a visit to the dealership; if you're under warranty, i'd recommend making an appointment asap...it sure does get pricey without...

so i should just go to the dealership and request a new power steering rack. I've took it there twice for the problem and it never happens when they take it out for a test. its annoying!!

You should tell them to look into the power steering rack. You dont want to walk into the dealership and be like" Hey You!! I want a new Power Steering Rack..."

What you could do is, offer to take the service tech out for a test drive while you drive, and see if it comes up

Ya, just drive it for awhile and when it's making it stop in and take a tech for a ride

if the sound was coming from the passenger side it could be the rack or pump
