Wheel Alignment/Camber Kit
Wheel Alignment/Camber Kit
Just bought an '06 TL and took it to my local pep boys to get an alignment. The vehicle was pulling right, so I was hoping the alignment would alleviate the issue. However, the mechanic told me that even though they did the alignment, the car will continue to pull to the right until I install a camber kit to adjust the right front camber. I've looked around on the forums, and it seems to me that the only reason to get a camber kit would be if the vehicle was lowered (mine is at stock conditions). I have noticed that the steering wheel likes to track slightly to the right, even if I place it at dead center. I'm starting to think that I need to go back and have them redo the alignment to make sure the steering wheel is centered, but I figured I'd ask around first. What do you all think? I've included the alignment as a separate link. Thanks!

I've had a similar experience. Take a look at this thread and the responses from other members: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/steering-wheel-alignment-771332/
Hope that helps!

Here's a thread of my alignment sheet from a while ago. Maybe that'll help? https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-tires-wheels-suspension-97/alignment-results-translation-help-789341/
I'd take it to another shop. You don't need a camber kit in the front. You may have another issue that is causing it to not be aligned properly; however, the fact remains that you do not need a camber kit.

The front camber should be 0.0 to -1.0 degrees.
You have the correct setting on the left front, albeit at the max, with the wheel/tire tilted in at the top, but the right front has the wheel/tire at +.2 degrees, and that indicates a problem.
To make certain of the proper spacing and to check that no damage has been done to the sub frame, measure the distance between the center of the right front and center of the right rear wheel and then compare that to the left side. Measure closely and they should be the same.
They will need to check all suspension components, ball joints, knuckle, and arms to try and locate the problem.
One can install a camber kit to do a correction, but I would suggest locating the problem before adding the camber adjustable parts.

Switching tires won't change the camber problem and because of that problem is why the car will drift, and if the right side and left side are not in correlation with one another, that will exacerbate the problem.
My alignment was perfect but my car was pulling to the left.
I swapped me front left rim with my front right rim and it pulled to the right.
new tire=solved problem.
BTW you might want to take it to the dealer. My local dealer has a special for 150$ for 4 wheel alignment 1 year warranty with balance and rotate all the rims. GOod deal for proper alignment and all that.

I plan on taking it to an independent mechanic on Monday. I'll post an update sometime next week.

Hey guys,
Took the car to a mechanic and it looks like the lower control arm compliance bushing is bad. Do I need to replace the whole lca? Where can I go to purchase one for a reasonable price?
