i was taking off from a stop sign when all of a sudden this popping sound (which sounded like a snare drum popping about once a second) sounded like it was coming from the dash and it lasted only about 20 seconds and it was very audible. The roads were wet and my ac was off and I have no clue what it could have been. Anyone ever have this sound before or know what it could have been?

 

Update. The sound is coming from behind the carpet about where my right calf muscle would rest in the center of the vehicle. I hit the area kind of hard and it stopped for now

 

ok the sound came back and it's as soon as my car cranks

 

well the air condition wasn't blowing while the sound was popping and then as soon as I hit where the sound was coming from the air started blowing so I guess it's an ac problem

That is interesting. It sounds like the divider / flap that goes between the fresh and recirculate segments of the HVAC is over active/ constantly being activated. Any way to check between recirc and fresh with the A/C on?

 

I can check in a little bit. it even does this when the ac is off and earlier no air was blowing even though I had it on about level 4 and I hit that black part in the video and it started blowing air it's very weird

 

well fooling with the recirculate button with the ac didn't change anything the popping starts as soon as the key is turned over and last for about 20-30 seconds it's very weird

 

well went to the stealership today and my air mix motor is going out and they're going to fix it Monday morning.
