so few days ago im driving on the freeway and all of a sudden my vsa turns on and my car cannot change gears out of 3rd. i get scared shitless so i pull over and my car is still in third going like 3 miles per hour lol. my cel came on. i have a throttle body spacer could that be the problem or could it be that i need a new tranny. i went to the shop to take it but right when i get there the cel turns off and they cant troubleshoot it problem does anyone have a solution. thanks in advance

the code is stored and will pop up again.

we cant do anything for you without that code.

 

When my car did that same thing, the code told me it was a bad throttle body. After the mechanic replaced 3 of them, I read on here that it could be the app sensor. That fixed it. 1/3 the cost of a throttle body, too.

 

I don't believe VSA has anthing to do with transmission

 

Wow this is a coincidence. I literally just had this problem. Brought it to the garage they replaced the throttle body. The next day I had the same problem. I'm going back today to tell them to fix it since obviously they didn't do the job.

 

Read my note above. It's your app sensor.

 

thanks guys! the most stressfull thing is that whenever i bring my car to the shop my cel turns off and they cant even scan it.
