VSA light and check engine light ON.

I was driving my car on the highway has normal yesterday and all of sudden my VSA light and check engine (that looks like the transmision) light came on. I immediately drove it back to my mechanic. It felt like i only had 1st and 2nd gear. i was driving 55 on highway and my RPMs were around 4.5 and 5. when i slowed down when the car downshifted it buckeled rather than coming to a slow stop. any ideas what when wrong?

it could be a number of things.

you need to know what codes it threw, ask your mechanic.
he should have hooked up a machine(a little code reader) underneath the dash.

Autozone also provides free code diagnostics.

That sounds very similar to what happened to me last tuesday! I now have a new transmission! Check my thread "another one bites the dust"

3rd gear pressure sensor?
or the APP sensor?
you should have asked what code it threw when you spoke to him
