Vehicle Stability Assist83/APP Sensor - Help

My 08 TL-S 6spd ended up throwing the Vehicle Stability and Assis83 code last week and went into what most have called "limp mode". I had an idea that the gas pedal needed adjustment because there was some play in the cable - but hadn't had the tools or time to adjust it.

After the "limp mode" experience and the code going off I figured it was time to fix the pedal in hopes this would cure all of the symptoms of a possible faulty APP sensor. *For those of you I have seen in the msg boards asking about how to get to this sensor - it is very easy and quick and the DIY that was posted did a great job (sorry don't have the link to it)

It has now been about 2 weeks after the pedal adjustment and reset of the ECU. The car drove amazing the first few days but has gradually started to show similar symptoms. When I drive it almost feels as if I am feathering the gas when attempting to hold a constant speed. My acceleration is also very weak when going into 1st gear at times. The car also will "jump" sometimes at low RPMS in 1st gear while driving very very casual. I am almost tempted to reset the ECU again being many have posted this resolves the issues but I hate thinking you should have to constantly do the reset to achieve quality driving. I have looked at this multiple times and have found that sometimes the drive by wire system has some issues in acceleration but also that the APP sensor goes out ALL the time in our vehicles.

With the code that I had on my vehicle and the symptoms from my post - would you assume that the APP sensor is indeed just going bad or could it be another issue?

Sorry for such a long post but if anyone has experienced similar issues/repairs any comments would be appreciated. Unsure where to go from here. Thanks!

Sorry to bump an old thread but I'd love to chime in about this sensor.

For a few months my car was launching terrible, engaging rough, having a rough idle and had a sporadic "pulse" when I was on the highway. I had the transmission fluid changed with GM Syncromesh Friction Modified prior to this happening and it still was happening. I let a few members on here drive my car and it seemed to drive perfect for them and would start happening again once I got back in the car. I even took it to Acura to have them diagnose it and they called me informing me they did not find a single thing wrong with my car.

A friend, H23Accord, came over to help me with my suspension and drove my car and it drove like new for him. Luckily when I was driving to lunch with him my car went into limp mode and threw the Vehicle Stability Assist code! As much as I hate check engine lights, this was the highlight of my weekend!

Acura wanted $272 for the sensor so I went through OEMAcuraParts.com and purchased the accelerator pedal position sensor for $149.87 (part 37971-RBB-003). It arrived two days after ordering it, along with a bunch of other parts, and it took me less than 10 minutes to install.

Outcome: My goodness! My car has NEVER driven so good! It was an absolute night and day difference! The idle is perfect, launches perfectly and shifts like butter!

If anyone has an issue with the car being sluggish or any symptoms I listed above, this sensor is most likely causing it and I have to say this is the best $150 I've invested into the car since buying it.

Anyone willing to donate their broken app sensor for research? I would like to open it up and see if I can locate the actual component failing inside the unit. I was able to do this on my old legend VSS , tracked down the $2 component and it was good as new! I'll pay shipping!
