I see references to the 2007 tl-s from this thread so is the issue not there in 2008s? Any difference? What happens if 94 is the highest you can get? Is this bad only in high temp areas?

I have the same pinging issue in my 08 tl auto. Took it to the dealer at least 5 times to try getting it fixed. They replaced the infamous heat shield and still it pings. They have acknowledged the sound but pretty much told me there is nothing they can do to stop it. Has anyone made any progress with this issue yet? This thing drives me crazy, after this turd is payed off I'm going back to driving Audi's!

I've heard this valve chatter sound last summer during a few gutless heatsoak moments. It doesn't seem to happen every drive. I'm planning to perform the modified UCM, IM and TB spacer mods over the winter so hopefully that will help. I'll probably open a case with Acura just so it's recorded.

After reading through all 28 pages over a week, I was almost sure there would be a solution. I gotta hand it to you Acura, it's the best mindfcuk yet.
