Valve Adjustment

Hello,

My 2006 TL has 110K miles. Should I do a valve adjustment? And what are the benefits of a valve adjustment?

Thank you!

For the best performance and fuel efficiency I always recommend when doing a timing belt service since everything is apart including new valve cover gaskets. Did you have the 105K timing belt service done?

I did but before 105K. Didn’t know I needed to do valve adjustment.

You don't "need" to but it's good to ensure the tolerances are within spec every once in a while...if engine idles pretty quietly, I wouldn't sweat it.

It's not needed, but certainly helps keep the motor running perfectly. I would wait until the next time you need valve cover gaskets or when the valves start getting noisier. Sometimes the valves can get out of spec and cause misfires, esp when not using premium fuel.

I had mine done with the valve cover gaskets. Everything was in spec. It's nothing to lose sleep over.

Not running premium sounds like an owner that definitely wouldn't worry about a valve adjustment. LOL.
I did the valve adjust on my TL-S the first time around at about 130K...then I think I checked them again at like 190K when I bought it back
and now that it's at 240K it still runs and drives SO smoothly!

Picked up mine at 164k. Had a valve adjustment done as a part of all the other work I was having done. He mentioned they were a little off on some of them, but nothing was too crazy.
