URGENT: Car Starts But Will Not Shift From Park

I posted something for my radio in the other forum, but now I am really worried that my car is really messed up.

I tried to install a Tap-A-Fuse to hardwire my radar detector and the fuse seemed to fit tight so I pushed it in a little.

Now I have major problems. The fuse seems to fit extremely loose and my entire radio power does not work

My car will not shift out of park either

Also none of my cigarette lighters works. Did I just fuck up my entire circuit board? Even with a perfectly good fuse in the socket the ACC gets no power.

So whats next, tow my car to the dealership? PLEASE HELP. How can I get the circuit to power up again

Man it seems like you're having terrible luck lately Do you have any CEL's? How about any blown fuses, under the hood and in the kick panel?

No, but I think i fucked up my ACC fuse somehow....can this cause my radio not to turn on? ughhh the car was working fine until I tried to hardwire this god damn radar. What fuses should I check. The car starts and wheel turns fine and no lights on the dash.

If you are absolutely positive you have no blown fuses then chances are you've shorted something out internally.

Just start pulling fuses, any and all of them. One at a time though, check them, then replace any blown ones.

I fucked up my car big time trying to do the DRL mod where you bypass the fog light relay. I shorted something out and my headlights wouldn't work, my parking lights stayed on and my combination switch wouldn't do shit. I thought I was going to have to replace the entire fuse box under the hood (about $250), turns out it was just that I shorted the combination switch in the car ($55 part).

Don't make it out to be worse than what it is. I did this and I ended up paying the dealer $200 to install this switch for me
Does your radio light up at all?

All the lights in my radio work and when I hit the Eject button my CDs eject, I just cant adjust the volumn or turn on or off the radio. I also cannot even shift my car into drive, does anyone know what fuse prevents this?

I'm sure there is probably a fuse that is preventing the car from shifting out of park. I'm stumped on what else to tell you if none of your fuses are blown Have you test your add-a-fuse to see if you have power coming out through that? Have you removed the add-a-fuse?

Thats the problem, it is the only fuse I touched and it doesnt work AND the radio doesnt turn on/car wont shift out of park. I figure if thats the only thing I touched it must be that....only problem is how long will it take to get a new circuit board and how hard is that to install since I can't really bring my car to the dealer...

Might not be your circuit board.. Just because that is the only fuse you touched doesn't mean it didn't blow any other fuses.
When I was about to order the under hood fuse box panel, there was only one in the entire country according to my Acura stealership. I would rule replacing a circuit board out of the question, until you know for sure that that's what it is.

So after consulting my service manual, it is most certainly Fuse #32. Only problem is that the fuse is not blown....just the two little metal things got pushed back into the circuit board so the fuse isnt making an actual connection. Looks like my only option are

1) disconnect everything and see if I can pry the metal back to its orginal place

2) Bring the car into the Stealership and have them put in a new circuit board.

Either way, looks like its going to be a ton of work or a ton of money...FML!

This also explains why my lighters are not working and radio, all that shit goes to fuse 32.....god damn you Hardwire kit

pull the fuse panel out and fix it! That's easy to do, I'd definitely TRY before taking that bitch to the stealer!

Tried to pull out that fuse panel....jesus there are a shitload of connections. I can not get to any of the connections behind the fuse box, tried for about an hour and no luck. Looks like the dealer is gonna have to handle this one.

Man that blows, I've never had to mess with anything internal on a fuse box like that but I can imagine it's a real PITA. Hopefully some one else can chime in on it, surely there is an explanation.

What dealer are you taking it to? I'd highly suggest Ed Martin Acura. I've been to Hubler and their service isn't as good.

Sorry to hear that though. Sucks.
