Unconnected Connector!

Was replacing my starter this evening, and after removing the battery and its trays, I noticed this un-connected electrical connector, complete with cable, sitting on the underside covers. I felt and looked around but found nothing that it seemed to be what it connects to. I certainly didn't disconnect it, so I assume it's been there for quite a while. The battery hasn't been out for about 2 years, that I'm aware of.

Wondering what it is, and if anyone has any ideas. I snapped a couple pictures with my phone. The only thing that occurred to me was maybe it's for fog lights, which I don't have. The cable runs back toward the front corner, where a bundle goes up and splits off, with one cable going toward where the headlights are on the driver side.

The pictures are looking straight down under where the batter tray is. The pix are a little small, I had to resize them down by 50% to attach them. If you can bring them back to 1536x2048, they'll be normal size again.

It's a 2004 non-navi automatic, if that makes it easier to sleuth.

I just looked at my car and dont see that, the only thing i can think of is that it may go to the fan next to the battery. If i took my battery out then I my be able to get a better look at mine, but from what I could see, the fan is the closest thing.

Yeah make sure your fan is hooked up, It definately looks like the electrical connector for the fan next to the battery.

Thanks, I'll look at that possibility next time I have the gumption to remove the battery again.

you can check it without remvoing the battery, feel at the bottom of the fans shroud and there should be a connector with wires leaving from it going in the direction of the battery.
