"Typical" oil consumption? J32, 120k+ miles

Hey everyone - as our cars push past 100k miles, timing belt changes, etc, what is a "reasonable" amount of oil to have burn between oil changes? I seem to be at 1/3 quart every 4k miles, so I'm not overly concerned, but just thought I would start a poll for everyone's future reference.

I have over 200k on my J32. I change the oil at around 7k mile intervals and never use any measurable amount of oil. I've owned a lot of different Hondas/Acuras from the 80s and up and don't recall any really using oil. Are you sure you aren't leaking any? Are you the original owner? Do you know it's maintenance history?
That said, 1/3rd qt over 4k miles is not much. I have a GMC with 125k miles that I've owned since new and have maintained meticulously and has always used about a 1/2qt every 3-4k

On my 03 TLS with 365k I change the oil every 12k and it is still between both dots on the dipstick.

On my 03 CLS6 with 209k I have the same results.

Same on 02 TLP with 246k.

On 1999 TL I have to add 1 quart every 5k but that is because my front valve cover gasket leaks a bit.

Safe to say these engines do not really burn oil. I have the same stories from other people with these engines in my area.

Mine was consuming 1/2 quart per 10K at 110K miles prior to the spark plug blowing out of the cylinder head, after which it jumped to 1 quart every 3K.

Lots of us have the rear oil seal leak which is probably what you have. I put in oil every month to keep the level correct. You won't see oil when parked but it comes out when you drive. It's an expensive fix at 600-1000 depending on the shop but I just choose the fill as you go method haha

I put in half to a full quart during an oil interval

one of the most common leaks is the oil pump leak

03 tls @ 219,536

my 2003 TLS currently over 219k does not use any appreciable oil between 5,000 mile oil change interval. prior to engine oil pump seal repair at 200,000 miles, consumption was at 2/3 of a quart every 4,000 miles. only oil leak issue now is a "seap" at the rear main seal, which is hardly noticeable on the dip stick at the 5,000 mile service interval. at routine 5,000 mile oil change service, i add all 5 quarts which brings the level on the dip stick to slightly over full. after 5,000 miles, the dip stick level shows slightly under full. ( quite remarkable, in my opinion for a 13 year old car with 200,000 plus miles)

97k miles and no oil added between oil change. Oil change whenever the oil life at 10%.
