Trunk won't open on a 2004 TL

hey i'm having problems with my trunk not opening. i've tried pushing the button inside the car and on my remote also and you can hear it clicking but the trunk just wont pop. is there a way to manually do it?

also my side mirrors dont move down when i put it in reverse. all of these problems happened today and i just dont know what went wrong.

please help me, should i go to the dealer? or is there somewhere else i can find help?

For the reverse mirror thing, that can be a blown fuse. I had it happend to me, usually when this fuse is blown, you know so by checking if you can use your windshield cleaning spray. If nothing comes out and you don't even hear the little vacuum noise, then its the fuse.

As far as your truck... try pulling it open after clicking and check the lock? I had a problem mine where the trunk would not close. It turned out the lock just got confused and stayed in the lock position. I had to play with it a bit by hitting the button and it finally closed/opened. I blame that on the parking lot... They had cars popping trucks fot safety before parking. Most likely the parking lot attendant fked with it.

Also for the trunk, look in your glove box and make sure it's not disabled there.

for the reverse mirror, try moving the mirror around with the power mirror switch, sometimes it gets stuck and you just have to free it up. and for the trunk make sure the switch in the glove box isn't on or disabled.

thanks everyone i fixed the mirror. but the truck i dont understand... the switch on the glove box is not the problem, thats one of the first things i've tried. and when i push the button on the remote and inside the car, you can hear the truck trying to open but the latch seems to not release. i've talk to my cousin at HONDA and he said that i needed to get another trunk latch from an acura dealership and install it. now here is my problem... how do i fold the seats down so i can get inside my trunk? also is there an emergency release i can pull from inside the trunk? i'm going camping soon and it would be a bummer if i cant use my trunk. thanks guys for all your replies

The seats don't pull down, but the center armrest does. Pull it down and then pull down the vinyl flap to reveal the trunk access door. It may be locked. There is an emergency release handle in the trunk, but I don't know if you can reach it through the access door. All of this info is in your owner's manual.

If push comes to solve, remove the rear seatback. It's bolted in. I understand that this is a necessary step for anyone replacing the shocks/springs as well, so it is not uncommon.

2004 Acura TL. Trunk response

I was able to open my trunk from the rear arm rest that opens into trunk using a flashlight and a long broomstick to release manual lock. Taking my car back to dealer to be repaired tomorrow..

Good luck

when you put your hand in through the opening, reach right up and there should be a pull tab. That is the trunk opener tab if the trunk button/key fob option don't work. No more need to stick a broomstick in there.

have you ever lubricated your latch? if not try it. also clean your trunk lid and rubber seal. I have an 02 CLS and if the seal and lid are dirty the trunk will not open even after you pop it with the remote. lifting up will open the trunk and you can hear it unsticking.
