Trunk leaks

Hi, I'm new to this forum and have a third generation TL but was wondering if anyone else was dealing with some sort of leak in their trunk. Noticed a musty odor and now noticed it was from water getting in some how Anyone having this problem?

No problem with water leaks in my 05 TL trunk.

Get the garden hose with a friend you trust. Get in the trunk with a flashlight, close it and have your friend water the car to see if you can spot where the water is leaking into the trunk.

At least you can point this out to the dealer when you take the car in for service.

Thanks A_UFO, that's clever, hadn't thought of that. Now to find someone I trust to unlock me from the trunk... The good thing it's very little water just enough to wet the carpet. Thanks again, I'll let you know how I make out.

If you have friends like I do, carry a remote fob into the trunk with you so that you can get out while your friend(s) may be ROFL...

Actually, there is a trunk release on the inside of the trunk deck lid. It glows in the dark. Although, it is good to make sure you can get out in case of mechanical failure.

I had an inch of water in my trunk! (06 TL) Brought back to dealer. First they wanted to blame my Sirius antenna running out of the trunk. After I told them they were nuts they determined that the trunk seal gasket needed replacement. Seem ok now,

Take the side panels in the trunk off. There is a clear tube that comes from the drain on each side. Its just stuck in another tube.

Or the gasket is bad. Perhaps the adjustment for the trunk isn't correct.

If you can, take it to the dealer. Odds are they will replace all the carpet in the trunk... Oooo What about wires that are now corroding.

As mention ...use the garden hose method (make sure you can get out). More than likely it's the trunk weather stripping or the tail light gasket.
