Hi Guys -

I have a 2007 TL Base Auto (118K Miles) and I had the pleasure of driving to work this morning and, after turning, felt the thing almost stall for a second. Basically all momentum came out of the car, it felt like I had let off the gas completely. I made it to work without feeling anything else, but felt it again pulling into our parking garage.

I am going to venture a wild guess here and say that the transmission is going. Sounds like from searching around that this is a common symptom before death.

Worse of all, I just got the car back from having the L and R axels and control arms replaced ($1000) because I had the symptomatic popping sound when turning left and right.

Anyway - does the transmission symptom most likely mean new tranny? What is a dealership going to quote me on this, and do you guys recommend going with the dealership for a major repair like this?
