Transmission slop… ?

I have an 07 TL with 121k miles on it. When shifting to drive or reverse when in park I hear a "clink". I can also hear it when taking off from a stop sometimes. Seemes to have gotten worse in the past couple of days so tonight I pulled the wheel off (driver's side) and it seems to be something in the trans. It is not slop in the axle itself. It will make the noise when turning the hub forward and back again. Anyone else experience this? This is our 3rd, 3rd gen TL and the other 2 never had this issue and they had more miles. (05/08 TypeS)

Bought the car with 75k and had the trans flushed soon after.

I changed the gear selector/sensor this winter because I was getting a code and going into limp mode. It was good for 2-3 months. About a month ago it went into limp mode again but that was the only time and has been fine since. Related? I'm fearing it will need to be rebuilt.

Check your motor mounts to make sure none of them are torn. A torn mount can allow the engine to rock back and forth under the hood depending on how much torque is being put to the wheels.

Yeah it's not that. I can have it make the noise while under the car without it moving the engine/trans. Thanks for the input though.
