Transmission advice (2006 AT, 197kmiles)- Replaced 3rd & 4th pressure switches and atf drain & fill @ 100k and 150k
Anything else I should check before I replace it with a rebuilt transmission or explore other options? 5k miles ago, there was a whining noise and slip. Also, a grind/crunch noise when going into park. Did a 3x3 drain & fill 3x. Replaced 3rd & 4th pressure switches and the transmission filter. Problems went away and now slipping again- high revs with slow movement. Long delay going into drive and reverse or not even going in gear at all. Codes (pending) - P0741 (torque converter clutch circuit performance or stuck off) & P0780 (shift error)
Did a 3x3 drain and fill, replaced the TCC solenoids & shift solenoids valve A,B, & C. No debris in the clutch pressure solenoids valve B & C (also tried two different used ones for each)
Replaced 3rd and 4th pressure switches again (even though previous ones only had 5k miles on it)
Nothing really seemed to help...problems still exist

Here's an example of a reman. unit cost from gopowertrain.
You may be able to find a low mile salvage 06-07 AV6 BAYA auto trans for a third of that cost as an alternative?
Good luck.
Thanks for the reply. The 06-07 AV6 has popped up a few times, I was thinking it was only a direct bolt up to the 00-03 TL, but looks like it will work on mines.
I called a few shops that specialize in Honda/Acura transmissions and their reman units included 'updates'
1st shop- Modify valve body
stated I wouldn't need the AV6 anymore due to this update
$3200 installed tax included, 12mo warranty
2nd shop- 'All are updated, and come with a 12 months unlimited miles warranty. We resurface all the valves and the bores, this insures a quality rebuilt valve body won't give you shifting problem. Updates Include: Increasing the pressure in the valve body to the torque converter so it last longer. This transmission have been overhauled with: All new O-rings and seals, gasket, bushing, frictions disc clutch, steel plates, internal and external filter. Shift solenoid are baseline tested for functionality before assembled'
$1200 unit. $2300-2400 total, 12 months unlimited miles warranty
Do these sound just as good as the 06-07 AV6 BAYA or would you recommend I just source the 06-07 AV6 unit?
Reporting back in case this could help others- I ended up getting a remanufactured BAYA unit put in. My current outside solenoids & pressure switches were switched over and it's back running again, so the issue was something internal

Thanks for the feedback.
Just curious, you state that you procured and installed a remanufactured AV6 BAYA unit & utilized the old TL transmission outside solenoids & pressure switches.
Can you tell us the remanufacturer's name?
Moreover, did you use your worn original factory BDGA as a core refund return?
If so, did the remanufacturer give you any 'grief' because you forwarded them a BDGA TL core rather than an identical BAYA Accord core ?
TIA
It was a local shop that specializes in Honda and Acura transmissions. My old transmission was used as a core refund. No issues, I figured it wouldn't be a problem, since both transmissions were priced the same, although I did have that thought when I was thinking of purchasing one online and having it shipped.

Thanks for the response, an interesting strategy, glad it worked out for your situation.
So, it was a local Honda/Acura transmission shop that handled the reman. replacement BAYA purchase & then the post install BDGA core exchange.
It makes perfect sense, though, the shop probably has a local 'hook-up' and the fact that they specialize in Honda/Acura units, they 'worked' it out with the remanufacturer.
If I may ask, what type of shop 'warranty' terms was offered as part of this non-traditional BAYA for BDGA transaction?
Any chance the specialty shop invoice, for the R&R, reflects the name of the BAYA remanufacturer?
