Transmission Service

Has anyone here done a transmission service and their car at the dealer?

Does anyone know what they do it?

I have had times where my car had the drone feeling. They did the bullitin. But I explained to the service advisor that (1)once, I turned on car, started talking to friend standing outside car, placed car in drive and nothing. Then all of the sudden you heard a noise like if someone thumps on your trunk. My friend asked me what was that noise. I placed back in park then in drive and it was as if nothing ever happened.

Then 2 times now I have placed into drive and car does nothing. They found no codes at all.

Service advisor states: "Its almost time for the 45,000 transmission service 159.99, and till this day, I have not had a TL's transmission replaced."

What do you guys think? Try other dealer? Servise advisor seems like a good person, not those that try to stick you with extra things. I know how things can happen to the car and no codes at all and cant duplicate issues.

i haven't done it at the dealer, but it sound like that you have a broken motor mount or transmission mount., This causes one of the two to slide back and not engage.

Its actually on flat ground. Parked on sidewalk outside my job all day. Roads here in Miami are pretty flat.(lol)

Thats what had me worried too. I would understand if on a hill.

when i asked my SA about the e-brake, he said to engage it beofre the car is put in park with the brake depressed. Do you notice the car like move back a bit when it is put in park? that pushing back puts alot more load on the transmission and may cause premature wear.

I use my ebrake all the time. Even when I am arriving home going up the sidewalk, I ebrake, park, open gate, then brake, release ebrake then drive.

But I know what you are saying and it wasnt that. It was strange. Till this day, it has not done it again.

Does anyone know what exactly is done in a transmission service for Acura?
I know here in Mazda, we use this device that has long hoses and they go inside to clean out and vacumm and sort off pressure clean inside (not exactly pressure clean) but its an internal clean then add new fluid.
