Backup Sensor Problem

Since Day 1 my dealer installed Backup sensors on my 06 TL have emitted a 4 beep sequence while the car is in reverse. According to the manual this means the corner sensors have failed. My dealer has attempted to fix this four times over the last six months, and now the service manager assures me that the 4 beep sequence is normal, and that the owner's manual is incorrect about it indicating a problem.

For those that have the Acura backup sensors, can you confirm that this is not the way they should work? The service manager claims that they have replaced the entire backup sensor assembly twice (over the past 6 months). The car is completely stock. Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jason

Ask the service manager to show you the documentation that indicates the owners manual is incorrect. Then, with him in the room, call Acura Client Services to verify it. I would also request that the GM for the dealer be with you when you call Acura. I have a sneaking suspicion that he is being less then completely honest with you.

Better yet have the dealer sign off that the 4 beep code is normal so if you ever back over anything because of the failure the dealer can be liable for it. See how fast your 4 beeps will go away then.
