Transmission lagging??

ok so last night i was driving my car afer it lasted almost a week in my garage and will i was driving i decide to use the tri-tronic mode of the auto trans..

When i was accelerating the car in that mode i would feel like the car is being pulled from the back like if it was a tug of war...but when i would switch back to auto the car would jump of acelerations and would run as normal.
im not that experienced with this type of trans but i do know how to drive a manual.

i am awear that the trans was in 2nd when i was accelerating and was at a god speed

any advice would be apreciated!!!

if you were in second at a decent speed your car should have jump off when you pressed the gas. there may be something wrong there. i know that when im in second at about 45 -50 mph and step on it it feels powerful man.

"tri-tronic"??? I assume you mean SportShift - the manu-matic mode, not gate shifting?

Just shift it like it's manual, but without the clutch.

You're manual will "lag" too if you're doing a constant 35 mph in 2nd gear and feel fine when you upshift to 3rd or 4th, right? Same thing.

Biggest difference (besides overall gearing, weight and no clutch) is that there is a time lag. With a real manual, YOU put it in gear. With the SportShift, you tell it to change gears, then the car thinks about for a moment before shifting. Smoothest shifts (other than keeping it in "D") are under acceleration.
