TL wasn't herself today. "!", "VSA", and "check engine light"

I put about 200 miles on the TL today and from early in the morning I could tell she just wasn't herself. Throttle response was a little bit off today for some reason. Although this could have been because of the hot weather.

I'm cruising on the highway at about 65mph and out of nowhere the "!", "VSA", and "check engine light" all come on at once. I pull over after a few miles and restart the car. The only light still on is the "check engine light". I drove the car another 70 miles after this back home with no problems.

Do you guys have any idea what it could be? It is too late to go to an auto store and get the code checked, but I will do that first thing tomorrow morning.

When you were accelerating, does it feel like it the car wasn't at a constant acceleration? Like you were letting off and on the gas? If you were using cruise control, the problem shouldn't appear. But if you were just driving normally without it, then it will pop up. Since it happened out of no where and the only lights that were lit up after you restarted the car was the check engine light, sounds like your APP sensor might be going out.

While driving to advance auto parts to get my code read, the "check engine light" went away. I still had them scan it though and it came up with one code: P2138.

Any know what this means?

This is exactly what happened! I would also like to note that I don't think my car went into "limp mode". I was still able to maintain a speed of 65-70ish when it happened.

Replace your APP sensor. Easy to do. You'll need, I believe, a 10mm socket with an extension and a 12mm socket.
