my seat creaks pretty loudly when i move around... if i remove the back of the seat, am i going to damage anything by spraying some wd-40 on the springs? Is there a better way? Is there something anyone would recommend other than wd-40, perhaps something that smells less?

Is it the actual seat or the seat brackets?

In the garage I believe there is a thread on how to fix *known* squeaky/rattling seats. But I'm pretty sure the fix was the mount point on the floor. Not the seat itself...

 

There was a TSB-- TSB 08-004: Driver's Seat Cushion Rocks or Is Loose.
As the prior poster mentioned, the problem was the seat track mounting and not the seat itself.

 

the squeak isnt coming from the base, its coming from a little less than half way up the back. i'll try to grab a pic at lunch
