Throttle surge gone

I was discussing my throttle surge issue with another forum member at a meet in Dallas, and seeing he had "dead pedal" a couple of times like me as well, he said he just replaced the accelerator pedal sensor. I talked to a couple of Acura mechanics and they said it was an issue on the TL cars in hotter areas because of where it is placed on the firewall (in a particularly hot area). They said the TSX has the exact same sensor (same part number), yet they don't have the problem. So, I ordered a new one and put it in today. I added some of that aluminum foil tape stuff for ducting to help shield it from some of the heat, and I also adjusted the 2 nuts on the throttle cable to take almost all the slack out of the cable (there was quite a bit)...
Needless to say, the throttle surge is gone (did 2 hour road test), and the throttle and pedal response is TONS better. These are the pics of my work...

hmmm...interesting

I've noticed that it doesn't happen with the A/C running because of the fan running constantly. I might have to try this out.

well, wrapping it will only delay the heat transfer rate, but final temperature will still be the same.

a more permanent solution(if this APP sensor is indeed the cause) would be to relocate it to a cooler location, perhaps near the front of the engine bay by the radiator fans
