Third brake light

Third brake light

my third brake light just died....and it's LED not regular bulbs...dealer was gonna charge me $220 to fix the thing...anyone fixed this prob before??

got bought an oem one off ebay for $8 shipped...gonna try it out when it gets here

If it doesnt work, I will be very surprised, then you get to go throw the old swith in Acura's face for quoting you a ridiculous price.

seems like brake switch solves everyone's prob with their brake light, don't those led lights ever go bad????

havent seen any so far. Though I am seeing the occasional burnt out LED bulb on the tail lights on the 04-06s. Mine are fine so far.

i have an 06 navi, i have aftermarket subs hooked into the factory sub connection. when i have the bass turned up, the third brake light get brighter when the bass hits. does anybody know why that is?

so finally got my brake switch today....took me less than 5 min to install and put everything back....my third brake light is now alive.....


OMFG you guys are super AWESOME..................saved me like almost $200.....lol....thank you all....

Thank you to all who have added to this post! I'm going to try this out when I get around to it. My brother-in-law was driving behind me and called me on my cell to say "hey you have some LED lights out on your high mount brake light." Sure enough there are about 4 lights on the right side that seem to be dim or not lit.

Has any gone into the dealership knowing this, but just to see what they will say...then call BS on them after they tell you it'll cost $200+ to fix? Sort of like when they wanted to charge me $80 to replace my cabin filter and I did it myself for $15 in under 5 minutes.
