Sudden electrical starting issue

05 MT TL. I stoped to get gas today and after I filled up I went to start the car and nothing. When I turn the key all sorts of dash lights flicker fast and a really quick ticking sound accompanies while I turn the key. When I release the key it stops. Its an electrical ticking not a starter/battery sound. This occurred literally after no symptoms for the 6 months I’ve had it to instantly nothing. Luckily I can pop the clutch from my driveway to get it going and everything works fine till I turn it off. Any ideas please?

How old is your battery replace it!

Also, check the + battery cable. At this age, it might be corroded internally where you can't see it.

Seconded. I had the exact same issue with my 08 Type S. The positive battery cable was internally corroded and the electrical connection was overwhelmed when attempting to start the car. I almost guarantee you that's what's causing your issue.

Replacement isn't hard or expensive. Just get the new cable from Delray Acura. Took me about 10 minutes to remove the old one and put in the new one.
