Strange starting issue

04 tl 73,000 miles.. ( 1 payment left ) WOOHOOO. Anyways. Started up just fine.. parked car for approx 15 hours. Jumped in cranked it turned over slow then stopped tried it again just clicked waited a second cranked it over. cranked slowly and finally started.. Went home parked it.. Got in it in the morning and it cranked over very slow. im thinking battery.. no problem.. went to advanced they checked battery he said bad battery.. awesome slap a new one in lets roll.. He then checked the alternator and found no issue. however with some more testing he told me something was draining my battery when its completely shut off.. He took my battery out and recharged it and sent me on my way... Later that day i decided to get a second opinion drove to autozone.. tested battery ( which was fully charged 6 hours ago ) comes back dead battery.. so im like screw it. bought a brand new battery.. Today.. ive tried to start it and it cranks over slowly but starts. I have read a few threads about the hfl fuse#6 might becausing the issue. I took the fuse out and ( prior let me car run to charge battery back up ) just tried and its cranking slow again.. Can anyone help me before i get bent over at the dealership??? what is causing my battery to die when everything is completely off???

It could be your alternator going bad.

It sounds like the HFL went bad per the TSB.

There are several threads on the HFL not disconnecting after the ignition is turned off and related TSB for the '04 TL.

If the fuse turns out to be okay it could be your bearings or bushings in your starter motor (depending on the motor itself)

Chances are it sounds like a faulty cell in the battery. Let the dealership or private shop run a charging system test. This will indicate any issuses with the battery, alternator or if there is a system draw as in the hands free link unit staying on even after the vehicle is turned off.

NO.. I bought a brand new battery and it was dead by the emd of the day.. The alternator was checked at 2 places and it was pushing 14. plus amps so that was fine.. Yesterday i removed fuse #6 and so far no drainage
