If it's cranking normally but just not firing like it used to then the issue lies elsewhere. If your battery was going out you should be able to tell by weak sounding or slow cranking.

How many miles are on the car?
Which gas are you using?
How old is the battery?
Do you make frequent short trips?

The car will start a bit rough (or stumble to start) if the wrong fuel is used, the battery is low or if the car isn't getting the right amount of fuel.

Also be sure that you hold the key in until the car starts! An easy way to elminate the potential problems is to do this:

Put in the key in the ignition and turn the car to position 2. Let the fuel gauge rise and stay there for a second. Then turn the car on.

If that solves the issue that means its a fuel issue! Doing this pressurizes the fuel system beforehand vs. quickly pressurizing and starting. To fix it, add some fuel cleaner Like Redline SI-1 and use top Tier fuel.

Hi, I have an 05 TL w/ NAVI and I'm the 2nd owner and have had the car for over a year and a half now.

Car also just passed 90K miles. I haven't had any starting problems with the car until 3 days ago. All of a sudden she's hesitating to start (to the point where I'm wondering if it will just NOT start one day really soon).

I've searched the forum and it seemed like there was a starting problems when the 3G's were newer, but I'm wondering if my issue is the starter or battery since it's older now and has some wear and tear on the parts.

Please help, don't want to leave the wife stranded.

The best thing to do is go to autozone and they will check your battery for free.
