Squeaking/Creaking When Steering

Hello everyone, newbie here, I have been having this issue on my 05 AT for quite some time now. Basically when I turn my steering wheel about 45 degrees from center in either direction, the front passenger side of the car makes a horrible creaking noise that is much louder than the engine (Note: I do drive the car hard sometimes) Sometimes its so loud I get looked at when I pull into a parking lot. I read on other threads that it is the CV joint going bad so I went out and bought a new CV axle from AutoZone and replaced it with the help of my friend and I believe we also replaced the upper ball joint as well. That didn't fix it. Also when I go to jack up the car it stops making the noise like it has something to do when there is more resistance on the steering. At this point I am stumped and have come here to see if I can get some suggestions.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

Just had this issue on front drivers side, turned out the lower ball joint I had replaced on Oct 22nd was loose again. It was a Napa part with lifetime warranty but the shop redid it for free because it should not have failed in 2 months. It had the exact same noise you have here. I thought it was the tie rod end so I greased it but it didn't work for me. New ball joint made it quiet again. Good luck

Thank you for this info, I actually have been leaning towards it being the lower ball joint. I know a shop around my area that specializes in front end suspension work so I may take it there. Hopefully it's not too expensive for replacement.

Fixed

Finally got the chance to bring my car into the shop and it turns out that it was the passenger side lower ball joint. The shop also mentioned that the ball joint in there originally looked like an economy replacement part. Just under $400 for replacement and an alignment, not bad.
