Periodic rev drops at idle
Recent issue. Revs drop way below the 800rpm periodically.
if I give it a decent rev, 2k plus, and if the lights are on, they noticeably get dimmer as the rpm drops to 600…almost like a battery issue.
it’s on a brand new battery (good voltage)
issue persists if I take out the fuse 7 (which is a source of 350mA parasitic draw at idle..a different issue).
Most common searches indicate that it is a bad idle air control valve. Could it also be anything to do with having a leak in my intake hose?
FOund this video which is a good source, if this is the issue.
Seems simple enough, though time consuming. Any ideas if this is the most probably cause?

A vacuum leak ANYWHERE on the engine (not specifically the intake hose) will cause some erratic and funny idling situations. Sometimes harder to diagnose via smoke tester if the hose is completely hidden, but sometimes the fix is easier than replacing the IACV.
So if you're smoke test results are negative..... I'd look at the IACV.

If you have a DBW (J32A3) 3G 2006 3.2L Base, w/ Navi, I'm pretty sure you don't have an idle air control valve.

Oh boy, so many possibilities. Thank you for pointing that out. I would be livid going through all that work and discover no valve is present in the car lol. I will see if sealing my cracked intake tube better changes anything to eliminate that first.

Hehe, it’s always the simple solutions that fix thing huh?
you were correct and tried this last night and idle has been fixed. Thanks very much, it’s weird that a car would have to relearn idle, but I’m new to the car scene, so obviously lots to learn!

I was getting a low idle and somewhat unstable.. Then I added 1 can of BG 44K to the fuel tank. And totally solved the problem. Now when I sit at a stop light, my car is pulling harder and consistently.
