Question Small Puddle of Clear Liquid on the Floor, Possible Leak?

Hi all,

This started maybe about 3 weeks ago. Each morning when I pull out of my garage, I've noticed a small puddle of clear liquid on the garage floor. Am I correct to assume that this is AC related and there is really no cause for concern?

The car is about 10 weeks old with 3500 miles on it. No maintenance has been performed on it yet. I leave the AC on auto all the time. Anyone else noticing this? Thanks for the replies.

If it is clear like water then indeed it is AC coil water.

Condensation probably

Your initial impression is likely correct (hopefully!). If your A/C has been running for more than a few minutes, there will be condensation dripping onto the floor. You will notice this occuring everywhere you park; just look under the car after returning from a short errand of a few minutes. On a sloped parking space, the condensation will run downhill in a little stream.
Otherwise, if you have doubts, stick your finger in it and smell to confirm it is plain water, as opposed to leaking antifreeze, brake fluid, oil, transmission fluid, etc. Then check all fluid levels.

Thanks all! Now this raises a new question. So the liquid is coming from somewhere (condensation on the coil) due to the AC.. so other than freon to keep the AC cool, is there anything else that needs to be refilled from time to time in order for the AC to work?

The condensation that accumulates on the coil comes from the moisture in the air; don't worry mother nature does the filling
