Several Problems (Brakes, TPMS, Engine Idle, Engine Noises) HELP :(

Hi guys!
So i recently have a problem with an my 06 TL w/ NAV

Couple of Questions as well.

1. Does this model of the car come with Brembo Brakes? i want to get Brake Pads
I heard the EBC Pads are good. I looked at these but on the bottom it says brembo calipers. I never knew this car could come stock with brembo. How do i know?

EBC Ultimax Replacement Brake Pads UD1001 Front | eBay

2. Check TPMS Light on
-Recently i realized tires i have from my previous owner are the wrong size. i have 245-45 R 17, when they should be 234-45- R17. Could that have caused the light. When i turn my car on it shows 58 psi on all tires (theyre at 32) and then few mins later the system light goes on and no PSI works. I think this model has the indirect TPMS system so can i be the module wrong or its the tires that are the wrong size causing this.

3. THE MAIN PROBLEM.
My check engine went on last month for Lean Bank 1 and Bank 2. It Goes away for a Week then comes on for like 1 day and then goes away again. When i start my car. the idle isnt "rough" per say. but it goes from smooth, then for one second i hear it get rough and do a little vibrate and then goto normal.

I am planning on Getting new o2 sensor, doing a air leak test, and new Spark plugs along with a good cleaning of the IAC Valve, EGR Valve and MAF.

Do you guys think its the o2 sensor causing this?
I was on idle the other day and i tried to see if the car is losing power on idle too. Since because of this the car sometimes struggles to slowly get past 2-3k rpm at high speeds when im trying to go from 40-60 after braking on the hwy.
I revved at idle and once the car its 5000 it falls down to 4500 and then comes to 5000 and repeats very quickly. it cant seem to pass 5000. is that just because im not moving. When i move it can pass 5000.

i Thought it can be misfiring of plugs, but the exhaust isnt making any common misfire noise.

Also where are the locations of the Bank 1 and Bank 2 sensor 1's. I see one on the front. i hear the other one is by the firewall? The TL Manual i have, the table of contents doesnt have the clickable sections so i have to scroll and search for key words to get to the chapter of the engine management section. kinda difficult.

4. Last question! When i accelerate sometimes i hear this whining noise. Like as if a plane is taking off from under the car.
Heat Shield loose?

Thanks guys! im new here so i can really use some help.
My last car was a 97 Accord (Stolen unfortunately) but it feels like its harder to find guides on this car then it was for my 97 accord.

THANKSSS AGAIN!!

Welcome aboard Daanish

Seeing you are new to AZine and new to your TL you will want to spend some time in the Garage - https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...-first-553557/

Then on to some of your questions:

1) Brembo brakes were standard on the 6 speed manual transmission cars. If you don't have an MT, the prior owner may have modded the car. It's hard to understand your question when you are referring to both pads and calipers.

2) 245/45/17 tires are fine from a sizing perspective but as you have pointed out they were not the OEM size of 235/45/17. Sounds like you are having an issue with the TPMS system itself as the tire size has no impact on the TPMS system. It just reads the tire pressure in each tire. If you are getting a reading of 58 at each corner, it's not the sensors and likely an issue with the central TPMS system. Do a search.

3) Did you pull the codes to determine what they are? Seeing that they are intermittent, it may be you have a few O2 sensors failing. Again search is your friend.

4) Need a better or more descriptive explanation of the whine. Is it RPM dependent? Happens only when in gear? Can you record and post here on AZ? Could be a bearing going in one of your pulleys or belt tensioner. Could be your alternator.

Hopefully this gets you started on diagnosing these issues. There is literally tons of info in the garage (link I posted above) and if you use the search function or use Google with Acurazine in your search you will likely find threads with your issues.

I'm sure others will have things to add.

Check your oil level too. Vtec works on oil pressure, and if you're too low it will feel like a fuel cutoff at 5k RPMs, when it tries to engage.

sounds to me like you don't even have sensors in there at all. when I changed my wheels to the type s we tried to transfer the sensors over but they were totally seized in the old wheels so said screw it. Now upon startup my car will say TPMS error on the MID then clear it and the TPMS light stays on. No biggie... When i look through the MID it says 400 kPa which is 58psi

it def. sounds like no tpms sensors at all, or all of them are broken.

You are right. I have no sensors in any tires. Are there suppose to be? I thought it had the sensor less tpms

That is right there are no sensors. We're there suppose to be?

sensors are in the valve stems INSIDE the tire.

Hi thanks for your replyy
1) I was referring to the pads. So I have an a/t so no brembo. The pads there say they have a fit for brembo. Are brembo pads different from oem in terms of fitting

3) codes are for lean bank one and two yup.

4) as I'm in drive and I accelerate. I hear literally sounds like an airplane from under the car. Somewhere behind the drivers seat doesn't seem to come from the engine. Literally the sound of a plane landing a whistle sound.

None of my tires have sensors. I thought it was a sensor less system.

Sensorless system? Makes no sense at all. You cant rev that high in neutral.

You can't rev the car over 5k while not moving and the TPMS system maxes out at 58 psi. The TPMS sensors have metal valve stems which is how you tell. I have heard the batteries run out on these sensors but, mine have worked fine for 9 years. I think the Acura TPMS sensors are powered by kinetic energy and recharge after a few miles of driving. Check out the black market ( our used part sales section) for cheap TPMS sensors.

you really don't need the tire sensors at all. unless your super OCD and the dash lights drives you crazy. I just check them the old fashion way

Some cars use the ABS speed sensors to predict tire pressure, but ours is a proper system with pressure sensors in the valve stems. Regardless, there is always some sensor measuring something, otherwise the computer is blind, it needs inputs from the outside world to know what's going on.

Can't rev past 5k in neutral? Why not? I have to try this.
