RV6 HFPC P0430 code

So I have been having this issue for awhile now. The code came up about 1-2 months ago. I stop driving the car and put in the shop as it was getting the clutch replace. My buddy inspected the HFPC and the substrate was still intact with no signs of debris inside the core or any other issues to the outer layer of the cats. Got the car back about 2 weeks ago. Since the battery was disconnected and reset the computer, I decided to replace the spark plugs first and look for any fuel injector leaks or faulty injectors, then drove it around for about 50 miles to see if the CEL would come back on. Nothing. So I decide to continue driving as I need to break in the clutch anyways. Got to 230 miles and nothing. Drove some more hit about 550 miles and bingo CEL and same code P0430.

There are times I think I can smell rotten eggs but hard to tell with all the construction going on. In my driveway, no smell. Idles normally. No changes to performance at all. Thinking of taking it in to inspect the whole exhaust system and replacing the O2 sensors. Ideas or suggestion???

shitty deal. Ive had bad o2 sensors in a few cars and never gave off a rotten egg smell.. I would think that bad cats would do that

Add a spark plug non-fouler to move the O2 further away from the exhaust stream and see if that helps.

Yeah I was looking into that. Order one since my local auto parts store didn't have one in stock.

If you don't have emissions in your state then why not

No need to gut them if the core is intact. Just add the non-foulers.
If you remove the core, the exhaust note will increase.

UPDATE

So about 2 weeks ago, my batter cable broke as I tried to fix it (kept coming loose). I fix the issue with that and since the battery got disconnected, the ECU resetted. I decided to rescan it again to see if the code would come up again. Sure enough CEL cam on after idling for about 3 minutes. Scan it and different code came up. These codes were for the O2 sensors. I order some NGK/NTK O2 sensors online as I am sure they have never been replace and she sits at 109k. The HFPC cores are still in great shape, but the o2 were burnt and come to find out, they were super loose Its been about a week now since I swap all 4 out and no CEL

Thanks for any and all advice and thanks rv6 for your support too. I will return back to you the defouler you sent me
