Hi everyone, I have a TL ‘05 6 speed manual transmission. I replaced all my light bulbs 2 months ago. I just noticed when I put on reverse, my reverse lights aren’t turning on anymore. I shift the mirror control to left or right to see if they move when I put in reverse, they don’t move anymore? What is wrong with it? And how do I fix it.

Fuse, switch, wiring, bulbs? How far you want to go?


Pretty simple circuit. Check under-dash fuse #21.





If good then I suspect back-up light switch. It's located under battery, under battery tray, on top of the transmission.
Relatively easy to get to. Hardest part will be bottom bolts of battery tray.


Put ohm meter on that switch. It should be closed when transmission in reverse.

 

I had this problem in my old Neon.........turned out to be the backup light switch in the stick shifter.
