Hello and thanks all. I will try to keep it short to to the point. Bout a year ago had a major malfunction on cyl 3. Coil melted on plug,plug broke off inside head. Had a guy my buddy knows put a head on it. He also replaced an injector on that cylinder. Don't know exactly what caused it but it ran fine afterwards. Every so often I was getting catalyst efficiency low and 02 sensor code. Did the spark plug non fouler trick which bought me some time. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago. Found the engine was using oil and about same time noticed smoke from the exhaust. Ordered valve seals and a bunch of other stuff but I was too late. Driving home from work last week and it started shuddering and felt like I lost the tranny. Starts right up, misfires at idle, will move, but it will only roll down the street and thats it. Wot does nothing at all.

sounds like the trans might be toast, but check the fluid level and see the color of the fluid, it should be pinkish red. If it's brown then it's burnt.

Kind of had that thought but if its cold and I start it up and take off it will take off but once down the street it bogs all the way down to almost nothing, barely idling. ts really weird. Whats a test i can do to ensure its the tranny and eliminate everything else.

 

The engine idles and revs just fine when in Park or Neutral? A misfire and a failed transmission really don't go together. You were not clear about it does nothing at WOT. Does the engine rev and the car goes nowhere? Or you go WOT and the engine doesn't respond?

My assumption here is that WOT and the engine doesn't respond....as in you have a clogged cat or something to that extent.

 

Yes thats exactly right but on first startup the engine will rev up in park though it feels about 20% power. When I attempted to move it before the tow truck showed up and it moved alright for a lil while but after a couple hundred feet. Then wot and the engine wouldn't respond at all and the car wouldn't move.

 

I Don't believe its the tranny. I got it with 120k and have drain and filled twice. Engine oil if fine. I'm thinking with the previous damage to the cat from prior incidents and the oil leaks from the valve seals currently ruined the cat.
