Sorry there is nothing you can do about it... besides paying the difference. When you sign your policy your agreeing to allow your insurance company to use any "cost effective" part or means to repair your car. I have said it a million time on hear, people need to learn to read their policies!!!Glass is something that i never hear a fight on (I am and insurance adjuster). I would say leave it alone, there is no difference in the quality of glass. If you read most OEM glass it will be stamped with PPG which is the vendor that most aftermarket companies get it from anyway. and knowing Progressive policy very well they do have a life time warrenty.

Edit: I missed page two, i am VERY suprised that you got Progressive to use an OEM back glass. I would have never allowed it. Read your policy, and if Progressive offers and OEM Endorsment then buy it so you dont have these fights in the future!

Unfortunately it's usually teens who are the culprits. The authorities need to prosecute the offenders to the fullest extent! Glad no one was hurt in your case.

 

I can't believe this, seems you hear more and more instances like this happening lately and most people are injured or killed. Glad you and your family are ok. Hope those little bastards get what they deserve.

 

You and the family are very lucky and blessed the it was only the car that got damaged.
