Problems after mirror install

i just swapped my passenger side mirror cover because it was cracked. i had to take apart part of the mirror motor assembly in order to pull the shroud off. so i put everything back on my car and all seems well, but when I put it in reverse to check if it tilts down, all i hear is the motor get power for a second then it stops. (yes, my switch is on the R side) however moving the mirrors manually using the switch works perfectly fine so nothing is wrong with the mirror motor.

my other problem is now my memory seats button dont work, the green light isnt illuminated and pressing any of the buttons dont do anything at all. and when opening the door, it doesnt move back to drivers 1 position like it normally does.

i dont get it, how does this happen. im planning to take out the mirror again tomorrow to check everything, but in the meantime, does anyone have any ideas?

Don't know whether this will help, but it's a start:
Seat Won’t Go to Memorized Driving Position When Opening Door
Currently Applies To: ’07–08 MDXs, ’05–08
RLs, and ’04–08 TLs
Got a vehicle in your shop because the driver’s seat
won’t go to its memorized position when you open
the door? Here’s what you need to do to find and fix
the problem:
1. Using a keyless remote, lock and unlock the
doors.
2. Check to see if the remote is linked by opening
the driver’s door and turning the ignition switch to
ON (II).
• If you see WELCOME DRIVER 1 or
WELCOME DRIVER 2 in the MID, the remote
is linked. Go to step 3.
• If you don’t see WELCOME DRIVER 1 or
WELCOME DRIVER 2 in the MID, you need to
link the remote. Press and hold the remote’s
LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time
until the LED on the remote blinks once (it’s
twice for RLs), then release the buttons.
Go to step 3.
3. Adjust the seat to a new position, and store that
position in memory.
• Press and release the MEMO button on the
driver’s door.
• Immediately press and hold the memory 1
button until you hear two beeps. The indicator
in the button comes on, telling you that the seat
position is now stored.
4. Adjust the seat again. Then press the memory 1
button until you hear a beep, and release it.
• If the seat goes back to its memorized position,
go to step 6.
• If the seat doesn’t go back to its memorized
position, troubleshoot the DPMS according to
the applicable S/M or ISIS (MDXs and TLs) or
go to step 5 (RLs).
5. Check the MEMORY POSITION LINK setting in
the MID.
• If MEMORY POSITION LINK is set to OFF, set
it to ON. Then go to step 6.
• If it’s already set to ON, go to step 6.
6. Open the driver’s door, and make sure that the
interior lights come on with the ceiling light switch
in the door activated (center) position. (The
DPMS must see a door open signal from the door
switch circuit.)
• If the interior lights come on, troubleshoot the
DPMS according to the applicable S/M or ISIS.
• If the interior lights don’t come on, test the
driver’s door switch and replace it if needed

Check fuse #20. If the green light in the rear view mirror is out and your windshield washer won't spray, it's the fuse.

Good call. Now that you posted this, I remebered the thread about the problems with a blown fuse. Hope it's the fuse and replace with a 10A I believe.

Did either of these problems exist before you installed the mirror? If the answer is no, I think you have your answer...

If not the fuse, check the TSB to see if the car is recognizing the remotes.
